UNION CASTLE LINE 1906 COMPLETE AND VERY ATTRACTIVE VIGNETTE IN SOUTH AFRICA

Union Castle Line S.S. "Dover Castle" 14 11 06 Most attractive and very scarce complete menu with both sections still joined, cancelled "Plymouth Ship Letter NO 22 06" and addressed to Kent. The writer"s message start of with "This is not the Dover Castle". The "Dover Castle" was a single funnel Intermediate Steamer and it appears that this twin funnel vignette menu was available on many of the Union Castle ships. The ship's vignette is based on a photograph of the "Dunvegan Castle" during its trials on the river Clyde in 1896. Condition as per scan(s) which form part of the description.
