THE HOUSE OF HOSPITALITIES BY EMMA TENNANT IN SOUTH AFRICA
Emma Tennant's beautifully observed novel focuses on one weekend in 1953, when 14-year-old Jenny leaves a drap London summer to stay at the Lovecombes'country house near Salisbury. The rich are different, of course - her staunchly socialist Aunt Babs had hinted as much. But nothing could have quite prepared Jenny for this first bewildering encounter with the charmed and fatally charming lives of the English aristocracy. Soft cover, fair condition. The book shows some signs of wear. 185 pages.
