The Crooked Cottage is a lovely self-catering cottage situated in the relaxed village of Clarens. The spectacular views and mild climate make Clarens an idyllic weekend getaway. The cottage is only a five-minute walk to the centre of the village. It comprises one large bedroom, a full en-suite bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen and a living area with a fireplace leading onto a large deck with magnificent views of the surrounding mountains. The cottage is not serviced, however this can be arranged on request. Local TV channels are available; if you would like additional channels, please bring your own decoder with you. Between the high sandstone Rooiberge and the Maluti Mountains, the picturesque little town of Clarens is aptly described as The Jewel of the Free State. Clarens is situated in the foothills of the Maluti Mountains in very close proximity to the Golden Gate National Park and the mountain kingdom of Lesotho. All year round, especially in autumn when the leaves turn gold, the scenery in Clarens is a magnet for artists and photographers. Clarens boasts excellent restaurants which are situated around the Village Square. Other activities include fly-fishing with some of the best fly-fishing opportunities, hiking and for the more adventurous, abseiling and white-water rafting.
