Obverse: shield of arms (three red chevronels and ten torteaux in a three, three, three and one pattern) at centre, laurel branches to either side, GLOUCESTER TOKEN ONE SHILLING around, Reverse: PAYABLE AT Jas WHALLEY’S GLOUCESTER & AT No 10 CHARLOTTE ST FITZROY SQUARE LONDON in seven lines, edge grained, diam. 25mm  Showing its characteristic weakness in center of reverse with the " & at " lettering worn, which is rarely seen fine.
