My client has a vacancy for a Scripter / Developer: Scripting to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will display a passion for coding and will have a strong need to learn. My client has a hard-working, high pressured agile environment where constant learning is a given and initiative is a must. They encourage our team members to take ownership of their responsibilities. Duties include the following, but not limited to: Custodian of the scripting repository and process while responsible for producing and supporting scripts (one of our key communication mediums) across systems Own and manage System Scripting MetaData and MetaData process Maintain a healthy scripting relationship between Development and Internal Scripting clients while gaining a thorough understanding of user requirements Configure and maintain the Scripting Development environments Linux shell scripting across systems Maintain healthy working relationships with colleagues Opportunity to developing commercial grade web based applications from time to time Opportunity to pick up modules developed by other developers when required to support or expand upon Essential qualifications / certification: Matric (with Maths HG) Recognised IT Certificate/Diploma in one or more of the following: Informatics or Computer Science Network Administration / Management (CCNA) Linux Administration Additional qualifications / certification: Scripting Web Development Essential Experience: Proven exposure to networking, operating systems, applications and IT Infrastructure Good understanding of a wide range of IT technologies and the interaction between various components in an IT infrastructure Essential Skills: Proven experience in the following: Linux Shell Scripting Scripting language like Perl / JavaScript / PHP VBA Infrastructure and Infrastructure Management knowledge Networking understanding (Understanding of SNMP and Devices supporting SNMP) Intermediate Operating Systems skills (Windows and Linux) Preferable Skills: Cron Jobs ITIL C++ A good understanding of web development using a combination of the following: HTML5 jQuery JavaScript JSON XML CSS Server Side Web Technology: PHP SQL Query Language mySQL database Salary: Competitive salary package on offer (Please state your salary expectation and notice period along with your application) Applicants are requested to forward a CV along with salary expectations and notice period to cara@helderbergpersonnel.co.za
