SALVATOR DOPPELBOCK IN SOUTH AFRICA
As the founding beer of the Paulaner monastery brewery, the Salvator was consumed by monks in lieu of food during Lent from as early as the late 18th century. The beer is a double bock which is bottom fermented, and combines the most delicate of hops and dark barley malt to give a strong malty taste. Warm copper in colour Creamy off-white head Aromas of caramel and wheat, with a smooth, sweet malty flavour and a mild bitterness in the finish
