RYA POWERBOAT COURSE (LEVEL 2) IN SOUTH AFRICA
This two-day course provides the skills and background knowledge needed to drive a superyacht tender (powerboat). It includes close quarter handling, high speed maneuvers, man overboard recovery and collision regulations. Training is a combination of practical and theoretical exercises. Other subjects include launching, mooring, anchoring and recovery. Training vessels used include: 1 x 5m ski boat & 1 x 4.5m RIB (Rigid Inflatable Boat). Training takes place at the V & A Waterfront and also in the waters of Table Bay. We begin promptly at 09h00 each morning and typically finish at 17h00. We ask that students bring a blank notebook and pen/pencil. An RYA training manual will be supplied along with an RYA certification on successful completion of the course.
