In this place at the top of the mountain, there is a fully protected nature area with many archaeological sites. It’s there where the Prehispanic Obsidian was mined and carved. Artisan miners and their families manually work the mines of Obsidian, cultivating a respect for this place and its surrounding environment. Each family of artisans digs its own mine in this sacred place. The work of the mine is rudimentary, it is done by shovels, pickaxes and wheelbarrows.
