Raw coffee bean blend for home roasting Creates a full flavoured and unique coffee experience Beans can be roasted in a pan or a cast iron pot on the stovetop, gas hob or even on the braai Simply roast the beans to the strength you prefer by placing 25g of beans into the pan (makes 2 cups) for minutes, stirring regularly and keeping an eye on the colour The lighter the roast, the more of its original flavour can be tasted. As the beans darken, the less you can taste these origin flavours and the more you start to taste the roast flavour Beans will smoke as they roast: the higher the heat, the more they will smoke As the beans roast, they will shed their skins. Gently blow these off as they cool after roasting Roasting your own beans allows for experimentation with roasting times, strength and grinding options to find your perfect balance Roasting in smaller volumes means that the roasted coffee is used before it goes stale Raw beans have a much longer shelf life compared to roasted or ground beans Note: Don't add any oils or spray to your pan, this is a dry roast.
