Quantity Surveyor, Durban Perm position – R per month ctc Job Description: Quantity Survey for a multitude of projects simultaneously for a privately owned small to medium sized sub-contractor & supplier of unique specialised technology for formwork and cement applications in the Built Industry. Position details: Main Purpose of Position: Liaise with clients regarding tenders. Accurate costing Ensure and submit tenders on time Attention to detail Must perform efficiently on the following but not limited to: -Preparation of cost estimates. -Preparation of Bills of quantities. -Programming of the project. -Project Monitoring. -Quality Control Monitoring. -Co-ordination of contract signing. -Preparation of project tender documents. -Tender Adjudication -Valuation of work in progress -Valuation of Variations. -Valuation of Days work -On-Site measurement. -Cost Report. -Attending Meetings. -Contract Administration (JBCC,Fidic, etc) -Preparation of Final Account; Payment certificate. Value Management; Project Management; Quality Control and Life Cycle costing -Feasibility Study Country: South Africa Location: Durban Job Qualification & Experience: Work Experience: Minimum 5-10 years relevant working experience. In-depth knowledge and experience of the concrete and formwork industry. (advantageous) Minimum level of Education/ Qualifications Required: Appropriate qualification in Quantity Surveying Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Broad understanding of construction and experience in implementing new processes and systems. Work experience both in Quantity Surveying and Project Management (would be advantage) Project control and management, good communication and writing skills. Applying Project Management, liaising with contractors and other stakeholders, clear understanding of designs / drawings and clear understanding of measurements and equipment / materials. Strong strategic planning skills in terms of shuffling, scheduling and prioritising resources as required; Excellent management & strong leadership skills; Self-motivated & reliable, ability to think out of the box; to manage jobs as if it were their own business; delegate tasks correctly; excellent communication & problem solving skills; commercial awareness;
