X360 System Repair - Red Ring of Death Problem details Generally  the RROD is caused by a solder problem, where points on the GPU/CPU/Ram have worked loose due to excess heat and temperature variations.There are 2 ways to fix the problem - Option1 is called Reflow (R620)  and Option 2 is called Reballing (R920)  The standard repair option is the reflow (option 1) and only if that fails, you would go for option 2 - note that if option 1 fails in the warranty period, you will be REFUNDED against option 2. What this means is that you would have to pay in the diffference between the 2 repair options (R300) Option1 We will reflow the solder (solder is returned to a liquid state) so that the connection to the motherboard is restored. Service details CPU/GPU/RAM Reflowed MS Clamp system removed and Thermal paste replaced with Arctic Silver All internal dust removed to keep your console cool We will warranty the repair for 1 month * * We also recommend having a 12v Mod done to your system fan (R100 extra) that will extend your warranty to 3 months. Your fan will run al full speed permanently. This can be a bit loud but it goes a long way to prevent the RROD from occuring again Option 2 This is called Reballing - All the lead-free solder will be removed from your cpu/gpu/ram and replaced with leaded solder. Warranty on this repair is 5 months
