Rothmannia capensis Seeds   Common Names: Scented cups,Wild Gardenia, Wildekatjiepiering   Rothmannia capensis is a South African tree belonging to the Rubiaceae, usually about 5 m high in the open, but reaching 20 m under forest conditions. It occurs from the south-western Cape Province along the coastal regions and inland to the Waterberg and Soutpansberg in the Transvaal. It is a common tree on the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg. It produces abundant sweetly fragrant flowers in summer, and these are followed by smooth, dark green spherical fruits about 80mm in diameter. The blackish bark has a distinctive rectangular pattern of fine cracks. On offer is a pack of 5 Seeds We'll supply you with all the germination & care instructions.

Dombeya cymosa 15 seeds "Natal Wild Pear" This is a shrub or small tree growing to 2-5m. Deciduous. Drought tolerant, and marginally frost tolerant. The clusters of white flowers are in autumn and then followed by hairy capsules with seed.

Strelitzia is a genus of five species of perennial plants, indigenous to South Africa. The name Strelitzia was given to honour Queen Charlotte, the wife of King George III of England. She was from the house of Mecklenburg-Strelitz. A common name of the genus is bird of paradise flower, because of a supposed resemblance of its flowers to the bird of paradise. In South Africa it is commonly known as a crane flower. The flowers are ideal for cut flowers and last up to 20 days in a vase. They can all be grown in large pots or tubs but will require regular feeding and irrigation. There are three tree-like Strelitzia species Strelitzia alba, Strelitzia caudata and Strelitzia nicolai. The other two species Strelitzia reginae and Strelitzia juncea are shrub-like tufted clump-forming species. In Kirstenbosch released a yellow variety of Strelitzia reginae which in was named Mandela’s Gold in honour of Nelson Mandela. Strelitzias are easy plants to grow in the garden. Plants do well in full sun to semi-shade, love a rich loamy soil and plenty of water throughout the year. They respond well to regular feeding with a slow release fertilizer and compost. They are however very tolerant plants and will thrive in most soils and can survive with very little water once established. The plants are also wind resistant and grow well in coastal gardens. Strelitzias are sensitive to cold and would need a sheltered position in areas with frost as the flowers and leaves are often damaged by frost. In very cold climates it is better to grow them in pots that could be moved indoors when freezing temperatures are expected. Strelitzia nicolai, commonly known as the Natal wild banana, White Bird of Paradise, Wild Banana or Giant Bird of Paradise, are evergreen banana-like plants, related to the well-known crane flower, Strelitzia reginae, that have erect woody, palm like stems reaching a height of 12 m and the clumps formed can spread as far as 4 m. The 1.8 m long leaves are grey-green and arranged like a fan at the top of the stems. Although not related to the true bananas or the wild banana Ensete ventricosum, the leaves and growth habit of Strelitzia nicolai are somewhat similar and probably account for the common name. The inflorescence is composed of a dark blue bract, white sepals and a bluish-purple "tongue". The entire flower can be as much as 18 cm high by 45 cm long and is typically held just above the point where the leaf fan emerges from the stem.

Polygala is a large genus of flowering plants belonging to the family Polygalaceae. They are commonly known as milkworts or snakeroots. The genus is distributed widely throughout much of the world in temperate zones and the tropics. The genus name Polygala comes from the ancient Greek "much milk", as the plant was thought to increase milk yields in cattle. Polygala includes annual and perennial plants, shrubs, vines, and trees. The roots often have a scent reminiscent of wintergreen. The leaf blades are generally undivided and smooth-edged, and are alternately arranged in most species. The inflorescence is a raceme or spike-like array of several flowers; the occasional species bears solitary flowers.           Polygala myrtifolia is an attractive South African indigenous evergreen shrub able to adapt to most gardens and gardeners. It is a tough shrub suitable for coastal gardens, fynbos gardens, low maintenance and xerispape gardens. In the new garden it is excellent as a fast growing windbreak, hedge and colourful shrub able to grow in most soil types from full sun to semi-shade. Its growth is a bit more lax, producing fewer flowers in the shade, but it grows happily in the difficult pockets that change from full sun to semi-shade with the seasons. Polygala myrtifolia varies in form as it changes to adapt to the different areas it grows in, from the harshness of the coast to the drier inland climates. In KwaZulu-Natal Polygala myrtifolia is one of the many plants known for its antibacterial, antimicrobial and antifungal medicinal properties. Tests run by the University of Natal at Pietermaritzburg have found that aqueous extracts of Polygala myrtifolia showed activity against Candida albicans. Depending on where you plant Polygala myrtifolia it will reach from 60cm to 4 meters tall. Common names include September Bush, Augustusbossie, Blou-ertjieboom, Bloukeurboom, Langelede, Langelier, Septemberbos, Septemberbossie, Ulopesi and Umabala-bala.

The farm is on the Rkm out of Mooi River, we are close to the Midlands Meander route, within easy reach of the finest restaurants, schools, spas, galleries and wedding venues in the country Wander in the fields amongst our dairy cows or in the natural veld that is home to Oribi, Reed Buck, Duicker as well as nocturnal Ant Bears, Aard Varks, Brown Hyena and Porcupine. We have an abundant bird population with 28 pairs of Blue Crane and 12 pairs of Crested Crane being counted on the pastures. >br> There are 3 catchment dams and 2 holding dams that are stocked with Bass. The top catchment dam is stocked with trout so you are more than welcome to bring your own rod. For the more adventurous and energetic there are some good mountain bike rides and a more strenuous hike through the gorge up to the small waterfall during the rainy season. There are farm gates all over the farm to keep animals either in or out so if all gates can be left in the manner they were found it will be greatly appreciate. Milking and calf takes place twice a day and visitors are more than welcome to watch R/night for the cottage. R200/child/night under 12 and R50/night younger than 4. A sleeper coach can be added in the lounge - Sleeps 4 - 5 persons Milky Lane cottage is a beautifully appointed 2 bedroom cottage with a full bathroom.
