Some things are much more palatable without the core. Apples, pears, and tomatoes, are all much more delicious without the pips and pithy bits getting in the way of your enjoyment. The humble corer neatly extracts the core, leaving the rest of the fruit unmolested. Perfect for slicing, or even using whole. Baked apple anyone? Even better, these guys come in three sizes. The small orange one is perfect for coring smaller fruit and veg, while the medium green one is great for apples. The large red one has a 3cm diameter core, which would be great for coring larger fruit and veg, like pineapples. Material: stainless steel tube blade and hard-wearing polypropylene handle Ergonomically designed to be comfortable in the hand Efficiently cores fruit and vegetables to minimise hassle Blade has measurements in inches and centimeters on it to show how much is being taken out Perfect for professionally removing cores from fruit and veggies, leaving a neat, hollow fruit (or veggie) behind Also good for removing the centre of cupcakes to be filled All measurements are for the blade only, not the handle. Specifications Ergonomic anti-slip and anti-bacterial handle made of polypropylene with TPE coating Easy-to-hang handle hole Sharp, stainless steel tube blade Perfectly sharpened serrated edge to cut without mashing the fruit or vegetables Sharp and resistant blade made of special cutlery stainless steel Red: 11cm tube, 25cm total, 3cm diameter Green: 11cm tube, 25cm total, 2cm diameter Orange: 9cm tube, 20cm total, 1.3cm diameter All measurements are for the blade only, not the handle.

Grow your own" seems to be all we hear these days, and it's such a good idea. But what to do with that bumper crop of tomatoes? Make passata, puree, ratatouille, homemade tomato sauce - all these are within your grasp. The most time-consuming task with all of these is peeling the tomatoes. While the hot-water-peel trick does work, often it involves scalded fingers and messy peels everywhere. The Victorinox tomato peeler makes peeling skins from soft fruit, like tomato, super simple and fast. The sharp, serrated swivel blade cuts through skin easily, making peeling a breeze.

Euonymus commonly known as spindle or spindle tree is a genus of flowering plants in the staff vine family, Celastraceae. It comprises about 130 species of deciduous and evergreen shrubs and small trees. They are mostly native to East Asia, extending to the Himalayas, and they are also distributed in Europe, Australasia, North America, and Madagascar. 50 species are endemic to China. The flowers occur in small groups, inconspicuous and of green or yellow shades. The leaves are opposite (rarely alternate) and simple ovoid, typically 2–15 cm long, and usually with a finely serrated margin. The fruit is a pink-red four- or five-valved pod-like berry, which splits open to reveal the fleshy-coated orange seeds. The plants attract birds and the seeds are eaten by frugivorous birds, which digest the fleshy seed coat and disperse the seeds in their droppings. Many species are used for medicinal use.            The wood of some species was traditionally used for the making of spindles for spinning wool; this use is the origin of the English name of the shrubs. Spindles are popular garden shrubs, grown for their foliage, the deciduous species often exhibiting very bright red autumnal colours, and also for the decorative berries. Euonymus alatus known variously as Winged Spindle, Winged Euonymus or Burning Bush is native to central and northern China, Japan, and Korea. In open soil this deciduous shrub grows to 2.5 metres tall, often wider than tall. The stems are notable for their four corky ridges or "wings". The word alatus (or alata, used formerly) is Latin for "winged", in reference to the winged branches. These unique structures develop from a cork cambium deposited in longitudinal grooves in the twigs' first year, unlike similar wings in other plants. The common name "burning bush" comes from the bright red autumn color. It is a popular bonsai subject and ornamental plant in pots, gardens and parks due to its bright pink or orange fruit and attractive autumn color.

Shining Birch Bark Cherry is, as the common names suggest, most noted for its outstanding glossy reddish-brown bark. Old bark peels somewhat like a birch to reveal a polished sheen that is typically described as being reddish brown, copper brown or mahogany brown. Native to Western China and Tibet, this is a rounded deciduous tree that typically grows to 20 to 30 feet tall. Narrow, lance-shaped, willow like, dark green leaves to 4 inches long are serrated (serrula meaning with saw-like teeth). Small white flowers 3/4 inch across bloom singly or in 2 to 4 flowered umbels in March-April as the foliage emerges. Flowers are followed by cherry like red fruit (1/2 inch diameter drupes), which are not recommended for eating. The leaves turn a clean yellow in autumn and fall away to reveal the tree's skin in all its glory. In the right light, it really does seem to be sculpted from polished copper or bronze but with a richer tone than either. Shining Birch Bark Cherry is not a very big tree and is an excellent choice for a small garden where space and light are limited. The sheer beauty of the bark deserves to be the centre of attention.   Please familiarise yourself with the shipping info below Shipping Rates are as listed below Approximate processing and transit times are listed below PLEASE NOTE THAT WE DO NOT SHIP OUTSIDE OF SOUTH AFRICA
