This is a Remarkable piece of the ZAR History. This letter was written on March 7th 1881 In Heidelberg Gauteng in the Governments House (now 60 Strydom Street) by Paul Krugers writer. Paul Kruger did not write himself, for he lost his thumb during his youth, He signed the letter - hence his signature is always a bit shaky. During this time Paul was Vice President of ZAR which adds alot of value to the letter!  This letters context is about the political issue of the surrender of Potchefstroom and more information presented on the site mentioned below. The letter is written in Dutch. Photos of the letter and it’s condition as below: Please note: international buyers, contact us for a shipping quote  For more information of the Surrender Of Potchefstroom, go to this site:   http://samilitaryhistory.org/vol014rj.html   Thank you for your interest in our product.  I enjoy helping you add to your collection! Subtitle: A Blueprint for Transforming the Way Your Company Innovates Author: Rowan Gibson and Peter Skarzynski Publisher: Harvard Business Review Press () ISBN-10: ISBN-13: Condition: As New Binding: Hardcover with dust jacket Pages: 295 Dimensions: 24 x 19 x 2.5 cm +++ by Rowan Gibson and Peter Skarzynski +++ If you're like most business leaders, innovation now tops your corporate agenda. But despite all the talk and excitement about the importance of innovation, managers have so far found scant help for innovating in a systematic way that fuels consistent growth and sustained success. " Innovation to the Core is what so many books about innovation have failed to be - a prescriptive 'how-to' that enables managers and executives to really understand what it takes to make innovation a core competency of their companies. The detailed examples ensure that readers relate the theory to the business realities" - Kelly Duffin-Maxwell, Senior Vice President, Breakthrough Innovation, Kraft Foods.   A passion for books and a passion for collecting fine editions was the recipe that created the successful group of bookshops in Johannesburg called Bookdealers. The group started thirty years ago with one store in the quirky suburb of Yeoville and has grown through the years to a total of five shops, plus our online sales. Bookdealers is well-known for its collectable and used books. We also have a large variety of remaindered books sourced from around the world.  If you collect from one of our five branches there is no delivery charge. We also offer postal delivery (when available) and courier delivery, subject to a quote.

It   was in 1972 when the seemingly ordinary Craig Williamson registered at Wits University and joined the National Union of South African Students (NUSAS). Williamson was elected NUSASs vice president and in January 1977, when his career in student politics came to an abrupt end, he fled the country and from Europe continued his anti-apartheid work. But Williamson was not the activist his friends and comrades thought he was. In January 1980, Captain Williamson was unmasked as a South African spy.  Williamson returned to South Africa and during the turbulent 1980's worked for the foreign section of the South African Polices notorious Security Branch and South Africas super-spy transformed into a parcel-bomb assassin. Through a series of interviews with the many people Williamson interacted with while he was undercover and after his secret identity was eventually exposed, Jonathan Ancer details Williamsons double life, the stories of a generation of courageous activists, and the book eventually culminates with Ancer interviewing South Africas super-spy face-to-face. It deals with crucial issues of justice, reconciliation, forgiveness, betrayal and the consequences of apartheid that South Africans are still grappling with. Paperback, 294 pages. 1st Published March 2017.

2001. Soft cover, 389 pages. Very good condition. The cover has minor edgewear. Under 1kg. In November 1965, Ian Smith's white minority government in Southern Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe) made a unilateral declaration of independence, breaking with Great Britain. With a European population of a few hundred thousand dominating an African majority of several million, Rhodesia's racial structure echoed the apartheid of neighboring South Africa. Smith's declaration sparked an escalating guerrilla war that claimed thousands of lives. Across the Atlantic, President Lyndon B. Johnson nervously watched events in Rhodesia, fearing that racial conflict abroad could inflame racial discord at home. Although Washington officially voiced concerns over human rights violations, an attitude of tolerance generally marked U. S. relations with the Rhodesian government: sanctions were imposed but not strictly enforced, and hundreds, perhaps thousands, of American mercenaries joined white Rhodesia's side in battle with little to fear from U. S. laws. Despite such tacit U. S. support, Smith's regime fell in 1980, and the independent state of Zimbabwe was born. The first comprehensive account of American involvement in the war against Zimbabwe, this compelling work also explores how our relationship with Rhodesia helped define interracial dynamics in the United States, and vice versa.
