It is ordered on demand from our supplier and is usually dispatched within 7 - 11 working days For Two Sides of Peter Banks, the ex-guitarist from Yes gathered an impressive group of guest musicians, including Genesis' Phil Collins and Steve Hackett and King Crimson's John Wetton. Most importantly, the whole album was written and recorded with Netherlands guitarist Jan Akkerman (of Focus). The first six tracks make up a suite (early themes are recapitulated toward the end) ranging from acoustic duets ("Visions of the King") to full-blown instrumental progressive rock numbers ("Knights") that bear noticeable similarities with some material Steve Hackett would record for his first solo album Voyage of the Acolyte. Some sections (like "Battles") are surprisingly sloppy and show poor production, but overall the material is engaging for the prog fan and is worthy of the attention of anyone fond of Steve Hackett's mid-'70s albums. "Beyond the Loneliest Sea" is a delicate Akkerman tune, while "Stop That!" is an extended jam of medium interest (Banks and Akkerman trade some nice solos). Two Sides of Peter Banks is the most progressive effort the guitarist released after his departure from Yes. Very Good condition Since winning the Luciano Pavarotti International Competition, then in 1990 making his debut in  La Traviata  at the Monte Carlo Opera, Roberto Alagna has been acclaimed as the most outstanding tenor of his generation.  Soprano Angela Gheorghiu was discovered the same year at the Bucharest Music Academy, and her recording of  La Traviata  won the 1996 Classic CD of the Year award.  That same year the couple married and made their first album together, this collection of 14 duets and arias.  There are ten duets, which each star having two solo arias.  The music is mostly from the great romantic operas of the nineteenth century, the exception being the duet "Tonight" from Leonard Bernstein's marvellous Broadway musical  West Side Story.  Gheorghiu is heard solo performing "Depuis le jour", an elegy to remembered love from Charpentier's  Louise, and Donizetti's "Al dolce guidami" from  Anna Bolena, before uniting with Alagna for the same composer's "Tornami a dir" from  Don Pasquale.  Alagna is found solo in Massenet and Offenbach, while together the singers voices entwine to magical effect in duets by Mascagni, Berlioz, Puccini, and others.  With performances as enchanting as one could possibly wish for, this luxurious and immaculately produced anthology of passionately romantic music is delightful addition to any music collection. *** Please do look at my other items for sale; combined shipping available. ***

1959 Very hard to find Danish 7inch 45rpm single METRONOME RECORDS pressing, release number B 45-1185, by CHRIS BARBER'S JAZZ BAND. The record is in an excellent condition, but it does show numerous small little sleeve scratches, which become visible at certain angles, and it is missing the 4-point centrepiece, plus there is a ball-point written initial on side one (as noticeable on the image). The sleeve is of the company type, not befitting the record label. SIDE ONE: Tishomingo Blues - SIDE TWO: Camp Meeting Blues.
