BULK LISTING APPROX 750 SEEDS COSMOS SENSATION MIX - COSMOS BIPINNATUS If you're a gardener who thinks annuals aren't worth the effort because they're relatively short-lived, here's a flower that's out of this world. Derived from the Greek word meaning "beautiful," cosmos are as dainty as they are durable and are also one of the easiest plants to grow from seed. Plant direct or in seedling trays (see our Plastic Seedling Trays). Cosmos are adaptable to almost any kind of soil, but they do need moisture to germinate. In dry, hot climates, place a shade cloth over the bed until the seedlings begin to sprout. This happens in roughly five to 10 days after planting. Cosmos bloom continuously until the first frost. With its distinguished forms and vibrant colors, it's no wonder why so many gardeners are over the moon for these flowers in their landscaping, even those with small yards. Cosmos will grow to about 100 cm and they're perfect as part of your landscaping or container gardening. To keep your cosmos in bloom, keep them trimmed. Take a branch with many finished flowers, go a third of the way down the plant and cut. Pruning is an easy way to prompt new growth and tidy up the plant. Afterward, fertilize, water and await a whole new crop. As generous re-seeders, you can either save the seed for next year's garden (remove the dried flower heads to get the seeds) or let nature scatter the seeds for you. View our other items:

DAME'S ROCKET SEEDS Hesperis matronalis ·          Wonderfully fragrant flowers at night ·          Flowers attract butterflies, hummingbirds and moths ·          Easy to grow in sun or light shade This old-fashioned, cottage garden plant produces rounded clusters of violet flowers that are similar to stock and are wonderfully fragrant at night. Grows 60-75cm tall. Easy to grow from seed. Often self-sows. In spring, Dame’s Rocket lights up the woodland edges with her blossoms, providing nectar for hummingbirds, moths and butterflies, and fragrance for the soul. Dames Rocket was the favorite flower of Marie Antoinette. The genus name Hesperis is Greek for evening, a reference to this plant's aroma becoming ever more conspicuous towards evening. The fragrance is as sweet as a violet's. The night-scented stock is a close relative. The plants typically produce only a low-lying rosette their first year, in subsequent years, Dame's Rocket shoots up quickly in spring and enters full bloom by early summer. They are excellent for naturalising on slopes and in woodland areas and will look good in a border especially in an informal cottage garden and they are very attractive to wildlife.   The plant grows to 2 m (6.6 ft) tall, with large, strong leaves 2570 cm (9.828 in) long and 1030 cm (3.912 in) broad, produced on petioles up to 1 m (39 in) long. The leaves are evergreen and arranged in two ranks, making a fan-shaped crown. The flowers stand above the foliage at the tips of long stalks. The hard, beak-like sheath from which the flower emerges is termed the spathe. This is placed perpendicular to the stem, which gives it the appearance of a bird's head and beak; it makes a durable perch for holding the sunbirds which pollinate the flowers. The flowers, which emerge one at a time from the spathe, consist of three brilliant orange sepals and three purplish-blue petals. Two of the blue petals are joined together to form an arrow-like nectary. When the sunbirds sit to drink the nectar, the petals open to cover their feet in pollen.
