Open position: Toolmaker Location: Port Elizabeth Salary: Market related Type: Permanent position Working hours: Standard straight shift and the three rotational shifts (6-2, 2 -10 & 10 – 6) and night shift (18:00 – 05:45) Reporting to: Maintenance Supervisor Job requirements: Accredited toolmaker qualification (NQF 4) Have a minimum of 5 years’ technical experience in an automotive manufacturing environment (Automotive seating experience advantageous). Good working knowledge of engineering machining Ability to read and interpret technical drawings Ability to analyse and repair tooling issues Knowledge of quality SPC’s and FMEA’s Computer literate (MS Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) Good communication skills (verbal & written) Good problem solving and analytical skills Duties: Ensuring that equipment and machinery repairs are done according to Scheduled Maintenance Reports. Conducting fault-finding and repair of jigs & fixtures. Correct identification of materials for various applications in toolmaking Maintaining hand tools in good, safe working condition Maintaining machinery, equipment and immediate area in a clean and tidy condition. Our client, a large engineering company in East London, is currently on the lookout for an experienced toolmaker with injection moulding experience. Job Description Duties will be stripping, servicing, and fault finding injection moulds ranging 0.5t – 14t. Machining of parts from time to time with conventional machines. Ensuring stock levels of tool room consumables and mould stock parts are correct. Requirements: 5-10 years experience in a moulding environment Crane and forklift licenses advantageous CAD experience Advantageous Needs experience working with hot runner systems Automotive mould experience advantageous Tig welding experience advantageous Minimum Requirements Must be trade tested, qualified toolmaker Must have experience with injection moulding
