This publication is the FIRST FULL ACCOUNT of terrorism and insurgency in Southern Africa, with the primary focus being the unfolding conflict that was taking place in Rhodesia at the time. Prior to publication, no other non-military author had attempted to  analyse and compile the nature of insurgency as it was taking place during the 1960s and 1970s in Africa. The major reason is the reputation for respectability that the organisation has carefully built up for itself.  No doubt there are many well-meaning concerned people among its members who may accept the latest brochure as gospel, unless its distortions and half-truths are rebutted with a few facts so carefully ignored or suppressed by Amnesty International...

(b) Whilst rendering such service irrespective of the period of service, was injured or killed and was thus prevented from completing the required period of service. 1993 - Amendment to qualifying service was extended to combat terrorism and crime. A gold-coloured octagonal bronze medal, displaying a golden aloe flower on a blue roundel (obverse). A clasp inscribed “Cunene” was issued for the 1975-76 Angola campaign. – this coin is not numbered but has a surface on the back where personalised engraving can be added.
