Blackie was hit by a car and suffered several broken bones. They wanted to put him down but he had a spark for life in his eyes and his tail wagged like crazy every time we went to visit him, so we decided we simply had to fight for him. He had an op to repair the broken femur bone and he's been doing so well with his recovery on cage rest and going for physiotherapy. Blackie is the sweetest boy and just wants to give licks and love to everyone he meets! His foster mom fosters quite often and he cuddles and plays with every foster dog who comes in, whether they're little puppies or his size!:) He has such a zest for life and love. What to say about Gineva aka Genie? She's not the prettiest dog in the world, granted. But what is beauty when you have the sweetest personality ever? Good with other dogs, cats and kids, this little gem of a canine just wants a warm bed and a full tummy. She's the ultimate low maintenance dog, she is perfectly happy lying at your feet and it was a joy seeing her blossom from shy and timid to dancing when she sees me! She also has quite the ferocious bark, which is great! Genie has had a hard life, that is plain to see. Her tail is missing, so is part of her one ear. Some of her bottom front teeth too, probably from eating stones from hunger. She looks older than her 4 years. Her life changed for the better by accident, literally. She was in a terrible car accident, which left her with a limp. She copes fine without the use of her leg, and sometimes still uses it. When I got her from LEAPS to foster, one of my friends asked me: "who will adopt her, she's so plain?" My answer: "someone special." Here's hoping, Genie. My wish is a quiet home, maybe a pensioner that wants loyality, undying love and friendship. *T&C's apply. Homechecks will be done, subject to adoption fee. Adoption through LEAPS.
