First built for a few of my ¿Domestic¿ buddies whose surfing can be described as ¿ former pro level, now grown up, with kids and a job, surfing crappy beach breaks with my kids¿whenever I get a chance¿. During 2009, as the F1 became a board of choice for many team riders, the low end limitations of the design were becoming apparent. Looking to make the F1 excel in smaller gutless surf, we widened and slightly lowered the rocker in the nose for forward glide (but kept the tail rocker the same). We increased rail volume and straightened the outline via a hip making the tail wider in front of the fins and at the tail block ¿ adding drive, lift and tight radius pivot, but keeps same width at 12¿ for control. The  Caffeine mini malibu (minimal)  The Caffeine Mini Malibu (minimal) design is a great universal surfboard ¿ The name ¿Caffeine¿ because it gets you up and going like that first cup of Java in the morning.  The caffeine has a wider nose than Le Colibri, to make the board even easier to paddle and to take off on.  Minimals were originally fashioned after the Malibu Surfboard.  It is similar to a longboard in shape but it¿s a smaller version. The Caffeine Mini-mal is available in 7¿0¿ to 8¿2¿ length. Full nose with narrow tail with loads of volume under the chest area that translates to easy paddling and early pop-ups, and the extra width helps the board to plane really quickly and glide effortlessly down the line.  More versatile than a longboard and easier to get the hang of, than a short board.
