Strawberry - (Fragaria Ananassa)    Have you ever wanted a ground cover plant that produced berries? Well, look no farther than Fragaria Ananassa ground cover seeds. Strawberries! Yes, Strawberry plants make a wonderful spreading ground cover plant and they have the additional benefit of producing delicious, edible fruit. Fragaria Ananassa, are quite easy to grow. They are perennial, winter hardy, and will thrive in full sunshine, as long as the soil is fertile and well-drained. It is recommended to replace Strawberry plants every 3 - 4 years as their fruit production will diminish.   Sow Fragaria Ananassa ground cover seeds in spring. Use quality seed starter mix, and small pots or starter trays. Sow the Strawberry seed on the surface and only lightly cover. Keep the soil damp but not wet, and do not exclude light as this helps germination. Seal the starter tray or pots inside a plastic bag until after germination, which usually takes days. When seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant them into 3 inch pots, and grow them on. until large enough to in their permanent location. When well-established, Strawberry plants are excellent at sending out runners and spreading out.   View our other items by clicking on the shield:

PEACH PEPPER SEEDS   You are bidding on 5 seeds       Chilli plants grow into small to medium sized bushes from half a meter to 2m tall, depending on the species and variety. Chilli peppers are green to start with.  Most of them ripen to a rich red but they can also be orange, yellow, purple or brown.  They may hang down or stand up like colourful little candies.   Chilli seeds need 20°C to germinate and it should be 30°C or more for the fruit to ripen.  Night temperatures should not drop below 15°C (at least not on a regular basis – a cold spell now and then is fine).  Chillies also don’t mind humidity.   Chillies prefer full sun but can also be grown indoors and they can also be grown in pots.   Sowing instructions will be emailed after purchase   Shipping Options:   Post Office FastMail  (delivery in approx. 4-5 working days) R39.00 for the first item (5 seeds), R5.00 per additional item Fastway Couriers (Pta / Jhb / Dbn / Cape Town / Bloemfontein / Klerksdorp / Potchefstroom / Pinetown / PMB / Nelspruit / Rustenburg / Amazimtoti / Ballito / East London / PE / Knysna / George) R85.00 for the first item  (5 seeds), R5.00 per additional item   If you are unsure if the courier delivers to your area, please message me to confirm   Courier delivery prices quoted are  ONLY  for the cities listed above.   The courier will deliver to other smaller towns but there is a  R80.00 outlying area surcharge  payable for deliveries to outlying areas (eg. Alpine Strawberry 'White Soul'   Botanical Name: Fragaria vesca Exposure: Sun to Partial Shade Bloom Time and Color: White or near white blooms in late summer to early autumn. Description: Alpine strawberry is a low-growing, compact perennial about 25cm high with a spread of 20cm. Flowers are round-petaled in flat clusters on a separate stalk from the leaves. The fruit is a small, white in color, cone-shaped berry studded with tiny, brown seeds. They have a fragrance and taste more delicate than the larger cultivated berries. Alpine strawberries grow quickly and are ever-bearing. Once the fruit appears, the plant will continue to bear all season. These seeds can be lightly sown onto a seed tray filled with potting compost. Cover the seeds with a thin layer of compost - no more than 1/4 inch - and gently water in. Transfer the seed tray to a cold, greenhouse or even a well lit room as both are suitable for germination which should take anywhere between 2 and 8 weeks. Once the strawberry plants have germinated, wait for the 3rd true leaves to appear and then transplant into bigger containers or if weather permits, the plants can be planted directly outside in to their final position. For best results choose a well drained, moist and slightly alkaline soil.   View our other items by clicking on the shield:
