United States of America Sealed Statehood Quarters Proof Coin Set 2006 A Proof Set is still sealed and in exc ellent condition, including the original protective box and certificate of authenticity. Launched in 1999, the United States Mint's 50 State Quarters Program was a 10-year initiative that honored each of that nation's states in the order that they ratified the Constitution or were admitted into the Union.  Each quarter was produced for about 10 weeks and will never be produced again. The program ran untill 2008 but due to it's popularity with the public and collectors alike it was extended with one year to include the Territories Quarters Program.
