Stuntman Platinum (PS2) Platform: PlayStation2 Condition: New Other versions of this game available from us: Platform: Pre-Owned/Used: Very Good Condition copies available Product Information From the creators of the blockbuster Driver and Destruction Derby series A totally unique game genre for next generation consoles A story/mission mode and an arcade "stunt arena" Six real world locations based on blockbuster film sets and a whole array of fully smashable vehicles A thrilling "movie trailer" replay mode For 1 player Product Description In Stuntman you'll go behind the scenes and perform dangerous stunts in 3 or 4 wheel vehicles; become a real hero of the silver screen as you play the part of a Hollywood stuntman for hire. You need to be good: the stunts get harder and you need to accumulate skills to progress your career from low budget productions to multi-million dollar Hollywood blockbusters. Have you got what it takes? Each stunt consists of a series of clearly defined objectives, which can range from 180-degree spins to perfectly timed jumps, dramatic barrel rolls and T-bone smashes. In order to succeed the player must achieve all or some of each scene's set objectives. Stunts take place on movie sets in 6 different countries around the world; completing each stunt rewards you with bonus items which can be used in the Stunt Arena, which you create yourself. Stuntman was developed with the help of one of the movies' most experienced stuntmen, Vic Armstrong, who has appeared in such blockbuster series as The Terminator, Indiana Jones, Superman, James Bond, and Charlie's Angels. Review Stuntman, from the makers of the highly acclaimed Driver series, is a very unique game that, despite its flaws, still packs a lot of fun--especially for those who love action-style driving games such as Burnout. Stuntman puts you on the sets of several fictitious, stunt-heavy movies, such as the 007-inspired "Live for Two Tomorrows" and the Guy Ritchie-inspired "Toothless in Wapping". You're to execute detailed driving stunts by following the director's instructions over a radio and the visual cues that appear on-screen. The stunts are constructed mostly out of driving around, through and over obstacles, but there are more than a few inventive sequences that you have to time just right. If you do it wrong, or mess up the timing of the shot, you have to retake the scene. The game can be quite a strain on one's patience, however. There's no initial "walk-through", as there would be for a real production, so it takes several passes through to even get a grasp on what you're doing. Plus there's a reloading pause between each scene which can be grating. Still, there's tremendous satisfaction from mastering a scene. Players may be disappointed in the quality of Stuntman 's graphics--it seems only a half-step above Driver 2 --but they'll love the handling of the vehicles and the interactivity of the environments. Nearly everything in the game can be moved or broken. The really versatile Stunt Constructor lets you play with all kinds of fun toys, such as jumps, loops and even cannons--lay them out in an arena and then drive the course. You have to unlock all but the most basic toys and vehicles by completing scenes, but it's a great way to blow off steam. --Porter B Hall --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

Crazy Taxi Platinum (PS2) Platform: PlayStation2 Condition: New This Title Also Available As: Pre-Owned/Used: Very Good Condition games available Please get in touch for information on these options. Product Information Drive a taxi and deliver fares around town for cash points Game is set in an accurate, yet comic, version of San Francisco Feel free to ignore traffic laws, pedestrian safety, and property damage Follow your own best way with no predetermined track or traditional boundaries Product Description Crazy Taxi (PS2 Platinum) Review The arcade version of Crazy Taxi was a massive hit, with its high speed driving and pounding soundtrack. Sega ported it over to the Dreamcast where it sold by the bucket load, and now it's available for the PS2. And it's superb. The aim of the game is simple: drive a ludicrously fast taxi and make oodles of cash as quickly as possible. Taking one of four drivers, each with their own skill set, the player needs to locate and pick up potential passengers, all of whom are identified by the appearance of a coloured dollar symbol above their head. From that point on it's a race against time through crowded streets to get the passenger to their destination while picking up healthy tips for speed on the way. Tips can be increased through the execution of stupidly dangerous stunts and the cunning use of the short cuts and back alleys the game offers. There are three major modes of play, offering the cityscape of the arcade original, a world created especially for the console versions of the game, and the oddly named Crazy Box mode, which sets a number of challenges ranging from high-speed ski-jumps to water balloon popping--an interesting if slightly unusual addition. Graphically, Crazy Taxi is a treat. Big, bold vehicles fairly rocket around the streets of the sprawling city, which has environments ranging from shopping malls to freeways and beaches. Everything shifts along at a fairly steady 60 fps and the only gripe is the pop-up at long distance, which is irritating but doesn't ultimately doesn't affect gameplay. Sound is excellent, with some thumping skate-punk tunes provided by the Offspring and friends and comedy backchat from the cab drivers and their passengers. Prolonged play may take the edge off this hilarity, but only time will tell. What's sadly missing is any kind of multi-player facility. Crazy Taxi is strictly single player. This isn't really an issue (especially after closing time when the living room's packed with prospective Travis Bickles all patiently waiting a turn), but the ability for a two player Vs mode would have been the icing on the cake. This game certainly isn't a Gran Turismo or a Formula 1 2001. There's not even a hint of simulation and the real world never gets a look-in. Instead, this is pure, blissful arcade entertainment.

Burnout 2 Platinum (PS2) Platform: PlayStation2 Condition: New Other versions of this game available from us: Platform: Pre-Owned/Used: Very Good Condition copies available Product Information Six exciting new US locations including Los Angeles and a busy international airport 32 new stages, 14 new vehicles to race Seven secret vehicles including police cars, 1950s hotrods and stock cars Point-to-point races All-new points-based championship gameplay structure Offensive Driving 101--"Learn to Burn" in the Burnout Driving School All-new Pursuit races--ram opponents off the road in a police car New Custom Series Mode--modify your vehicles Intelligent traffic system Product Description Burnout 2, like its acclaimed predecessor, puts fun right at the top of the agenda, dispenses with niggling irritants like realism and delivers top-class gaming entertainment. So whats new? There are additional locations, including a twisty road round the Rocky Mountains and an inspired airport-based level. There is also a greater choice of vehicles. Naturally enough you have to balance your need for speed against the need for good handling and take into account the weather and the kind of level youre racing across. Yet the core of Burnout 2 is still arcade-style racing and theres little else that does it better. Its incredibly accessible and an absolute blast to play. It doesnt matter whether youre competing in the enhanced single-player modes or hooking up with friends--its completely irresistible. Visually, the game looks great and moves very, very quickly. The action is interspersed with elaborate crashes, and when you do hit something you shouldnt, youre rewarded with an action replay for your trouble. There are genuinely very few negatives here. Those who prefer their driving games flavoured with a bit more realism are going to be happier with a Gran Turismo game. Also, despite some good improvements and additions, there arent enormous differences between this and the original Burnout. However, Burnout 2 is an exemplary piece of gaming entertainment, and a welcome antidote to the growing band of games that just take themselves far too seriously. Treat yourself. Youll be glad you did. --Simon Brew Review Burnout 2, like its acclaimed predecessor, puts fun right at the top of the agenda, dispenses with niggling irritants like realism and delivers top-class gaming entertainment. Hitman 2: Silent Assassin - Platinum (PS2) (U) Platform: PlayStation2 Condition: Pre-Owned/Used in Very Good Condition This Title Also Available As: New: Brand New and Sealed games available Please get in touch for information on these options. Pre-owned games supplied with applicable serial keys. However - please note: Any single use keys or activation codes may have already been used/redeemed. Product Information 20 missions situated in exotic locations Choice of 1st or 3rd person viewpoints Mid-mission save options Enhanced inventory system shopping New ranking system Multiple styles of play Massive arsenal of weapons Advanced level design & engine dynamics Product Description Eidos stylish, strategic and almost puzzle-like Hitman 2 makes its console debut, managing to address many of the criticisms that haunted the PC original while still falling short of its potential. The premise sets up the player as a genetically modified hit man, forced out of retirement when things get a little personal. Each level then sets up an overall mission, broken down into sub-objectives, thankfully with a much-requested save-game feature included in case things get a little hairy. This isnt your standard walk-and-shoot kind of game, though; Hitman 2 rewards planning, and lots of it. While theres no fixed linear route through any of the levels, each will require a lot of thought to be defeated. What limits the games potential though is the continual stream of frustrations. The enemys artificial intelligence, for instance, is sometimes very sadly lacking, and there are occasions when the pace drops to snail-like speed, without always generating sufficient tension to carry the player through. That said, when it hits top gear Hitman 2 can be tense, atmospheric and enjoyable. Graphically its very polished, and those who enjoy games that reward solid thinking more than an itchy trigger finger will certainly find something to enjoy. But while undoubtedly a step forward from its predecessor, its an ambitious game that still falls short of what could have been. Put simply, its good, its challenging, but it still leaves quite a lot of room for improvement. --Jon Foster
