Their tools abounded throughout the 20th Century, variously marked 'TS&SOS', 'TS&S', 'SMITHS O' SALTLEY', 'SNAIL BRAND', or just with the SNAIL logo. Their designs followed the popular automotive tool patterns, with special versions for Ford and Fordson Tractors. One side is marked 1/2 W 9/16 F on one end then 7/16W 1/2 F on the other end. The other side is marked Made in England This is a really old spanner.
