I am selling Tamara, a beautiful Technics SL-150 Mk1 Direct Drive turntable with a stunning SME Series III arm. The turntable has been fully serviced and set up, and everything works perfectly. Body, lid and hinges are all in excellent condition. A new stylus has been fitted to the very good Ortofon cartridge, and the RCA leads and plugs have been replaced. It plays perfectly on speed and sounds very good. The SL-150 has virtually the same build quality as the famous SL- record player, but is slightly more refined and thus preferred by audiophiles. The SL-150 left the factory without an arm, because each audiophile wants to fit his or her preferred tonearm. In this case, a stunning SME SIII, fitted with a very good Ortofon cartridge. The SME is also fitted with the famous damping trough, which, when filled with the correct damping fluid, turns this arm's performance up another notch (and also allows for the fitting of a wider range of cartridges). Technics is famous for their very good direct drive turntables, and this vinyl spinner is no exception. It runs on speed and stays on speed. And the marriage between the very heavy, solid Japanese body and the light and airy British tonearm works incredibly well. There are only two issues with this turntable: there is a small scratch in the paintwork on the cast aluminium body (right front) and the original anti-skate hanging weight has gone awol, so a brass replacement has been made and fitted, which works perfectly.
