Black Dragon Coleus Seeds Breathe a little hot color into the shade border or sunny window this season with 'Black Dragon', an unusually richly-textured, warmly-colored foliage plant. Compact, very showy, and easy to grow, it's a must-have for anyone with a patch of shade (or empty flowerpot!) to call their own! The leaves are spectacular, both for their red-to-midnight-purple color shading and their rippling edges, which give the plant much more presence than most Coleus. The leaves will turn color and begin to pucker at a very early age, making this one of the most fun seeds to start indoors. (For even fuller, bushier plants, pinch back the young tips a few times during the growth season.) View our other items by clicking on the shield:

Alpine Strawberry 'White Soul'   Botanical Name: Fragaria vesca Exposure: Sun to Partial Shade Bloom Time and Color: White or near white blooms in late summer to early autumn. Description: Alpine strawberry is a low-growing, compact perennial about 25cm high with a spread of 20cm. Flowers are round-petaled in flat clusters on a separate stalk from the leaves. The fruit is a small, white in color, cone-shaped berry studded with tiny, brown seeds. They have a fragrance and taste more delicate than the larger cultivated berries. Alpine strawberries grow quickly and are ever-bearing. Once the fruit appears, the plant will continue to bear all season. These seeds can be lightly sown onto a seed tray filled with potting compost. Cover the seeds with a thin layer of compost - no more than 1/4 inch - and gently water in. Transfer the seed tray to a cold, greenhouse or even a well lit room as both are suitable for germination which should take anywhere between 2 and 8 weeks. Once the strawberry plants have germinated, wait for the 3rd true leaves to appear and then transplant into bigger containers or if weather permits, the plants can be planted directly outside in to their final position. For best results choose a well drained, moist and slightly alkaline soil.   View our other items by clicking on the shield:
