Amaranthus tricolour 'Splendens' feature colourful leaves in bright, stable tricolour blends of red, yellow and green. With a uniform habit, this highly ornamental plant adds an explosion of colour to the garden. It is utterly breathtaking in mass plantings and very useful as a temporary shrub.   Amaranthus tricolour is also known as Joseph's Coat, after the Biblical figure Joseph, who is said to have worn a coat of many colours. This particular amaranthus is a heritage variety, being a pop-plant in the Victorian Age in England. This Amaranthus Bicolor is one of the most colorful foliage plants, and this variety is readily grown from flower seeds. Amaranthus Molten Fire has bright, glowing crimson-maroon foliage.
