The Venus Fly Trap (Dionaea muscipula) is the most well-known species of carnivorous plants. These insectivorous plants lure their prey using sweet-smelling nectar. When an insect lands on the head of the fly trap, they seek the source of the nectar, and if the plant is lucky, it will touch one of the many trigger hairs located within the jaws of the trap. Once triggered, the trap snaps closed, trapping the victim. The plant then secretes an enzyme which essentially 'dissolves' the insect, turning it into a digestible dinner. After a few days, the fly trap will re-open, to await its next victim. Venus Fly Traps are quite easy to grow, as long as they are given the proper conditions.            The Venus flytrap has a rosette of leaves up to 20 cm across. Each leaf has a flat stalk and ends in a trap. The centre is often reddish, and the sides of the trap are lined with stiff, comb-like bristles that interlock when the trap closes. The flowers are white, in a cluster at the top of a cm leafless stalk. They should be grown in very bright light, but not in direct, hot sun. A warm, humid environment, with a constant supply of moisture, such as you would find in a terrarium is ideal. The potting mixture should consist of a mix of 70% Canadian Sphagnum Peat Moss and 30% Horticultural Perlite. The Venus flytrap also known as Venus's flytrap or Venus' flytrap is a carnivorous plant native to subtropical wetlands on the East Coast of the United States. Dionaea is a monotypic genus closely related to the waterwheel plant and sundews, all of which belong to the family Droseraceae.  The Venus flytrap is commonly grown as a curiosity plant and is a source of wonder for children and adults alike. Platanus occidentalis Bonsai Seeds Common Names: American sycamore Tree, American Plane Tree or Buttonwood Tree Seeds An American sycamore tree is easily recognized by its mottled exfoliating bark. The bark of all trees has to yield to a growing trunk; in the case of trees such as the Silver Maple and the Shagbark Hickory the process is not hidden, but the Sycamore shows the process of exfoliation more openly than any other tree. The bark of the trunk and larger limbs flakes off in great irregular masses, leaving the surface mottled, and greenish-white, gray and brown. Sometimes the smaller limbs look as if whitewashed. The explanation is found in the rigid texture of the bark tissue, which lacks the elasticity common to the bark of other trees, so it is incapable of stretching to accommodate the growth of the wood underneath and the tree sloughs it off. A sycamore can grow to massive proportions, typically reaching up to 30 to 40 meters high and 1.5 to 2 meters in diameter when grown in deep soils. The largest of the species have been measured to 51 meters, and nearly 4 meters in diameter. Historical specimens over 5 meters thick have been reported. The sycamore is able to endure a big city environment and has been extensively planted as a shade tree. It bears transplanting well and grows rapidly. PHILODEDRON SELLOUM   Most philodendrons are climbers, but not this one. Philodendron Selloum (also called split leaf philodendron) grows as a large semi woody shrub with enormous glossy leaves and a single erect unbranched stem. The robust stem bears stout aerial rootlets between conspicuous leaf scars. The leaves are up to 0.9 m long, deeply dissected into many wavy-margined lobes and held on long petioles. Older and larger plants develop leaves that are more deeply dissected and more ruffled. Specimens grown indoors rarely flower. Philodendron can get as large as 4.6 m tall and 4.6 m wide with a stem 17.8 cm or more in diameter.   Philodendron grows best in fairly moist, well drained, fertile soil. It requires little care except occasional grooming should lower leaves become discoloured, and watering in times of dry weather. Take care in placing, though, lest it encroach on walkways or grow too close to buildings; a small specimen will get big! Light: Philodendrons don't like full sun. Grow tree philodendron in dappled or partial shade. Indoors, position in bright light, but not direct sun. Sunlight filtered through a curtain is good. Moisture: Not at all drought tolerant, tree philodendron should get regular watering. Keep the soil moderately moist by watering regularly. In the winter, keep the soil just barely moist. Virgilia divaricata 15 seeds "Blossom tree" Gardeners need not hesitate on the choice of tree if the keurboom/blossom tree is on the list; it is a beautiful tree, suitable for both the domestic garden and big landscapes. It is fast-growing, beautiful in flower and has an attractive growth form. Very fast-growing when young, attaining up to 1.3 m. in a year, and reaching their full height in only a few years. V. divaricata rarely exceeds 10 m in height. V. divaricata has pinkish mauve to violet-pink flowers and the keel has dark purple tips. The flowers are produced in profusion in spring to early summer. The flowers are rich in nectar and attract many insects and birds, such as sunbirds, carpenter bees, honey bees and ants. Also, many birds such as doves and white-eyes nest in them. Butterflies use them as a larval food. Virgilia is propagated from seed. The seed coat is hard and requires some stimulation to initiate germination. Seeds can be soaked in hot water before sowing, or the seed coat can be cracked artificially. They also respond to stimulation by fire and can be treated with smoke primer. Sow in autumn or spring.

Arctotis stoechadifolia Seeds Silver Arctotis; Kusgousblom Arctotis stoechadifolia is a South African endemic species found in the Western Cape Province. A tough and fast-growing groundcover often seen in gardens around the world, Arctotis stoechadifolia surprisingly only occurs naturally along a small strip from the Cape Peninsula to the West Coast. A sprawling perennial, the silver arctotis forms a striking silver-grey carpet that easily covers an area of about 1.2 m wide, with upright shoots and flowers standing about 350 mm high. The base of the plants become woody with age, but the long, spreading stems and leaves are soft, woolly and slightly sticky with a very strong bitter-sweet smell when touched. The white felted leaves are long and narrow (lance-shaped) with the edges slightly toothed or serrated. The showy flowers are large, single daisies with long, creamy to light yellow petals that are marked with red/maroon underneath. The centre of the flowers is black. Flowering for a few months from spring to summer (September-December), it creates quite a show with masses of flowers. Typical for Arctotis, the flowers only open with sunlight; the flowerheads curve down as they start to seed, only straightening up when the seed is ready to be blown away by the wind. " Pinus ponderosa, commonly known as the Ponderosa Pine, Bull Pine, Blackjack Pine, or Western Yellow Pine, is a widespread and variable pine native to western North America. The ponderosa pine is the official state tree of the State of Montana. The Ponderosa Pine has a very distinct bark. Unlike most conifers, it has an orange bark, with black lining the crevasses, where the bark "splits". This is most noticeable amongst older Ponderosa Pines. The tree can often be identified by its characteristic long needles that grow in tufts of two or three, depending on subspecies. Lithops lesliei var. lesliei, Pietersburg form (Cole 032), packet of - 30 seeds Big, fast growing species. If you are new to growing Lithops from seed then this is a good one to try, they are hardy and the seeds are a bit bigger then most other species, making them easier to sow. Sow at around 18-30 *C.  cover the seeds lightly with some river sand, aquarium gravel or finely sieved soil.
