Animal Anti-Cruelty League Cape Town is looking for a suitable person to fill the position of Hospital Assistant at our Epping branch. The candidate will be placed in our very busy Epping hospital where he/she will be expected to assist the Hospital staff with various tasks.   This position will require a hard-working, honest, dependable, self-motivated person who can work well in a team. Duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to):  · Assisting clients with the discharge of their animals along with prescribed medication and instructions  (Fluency in English and/or Afrikaans essential) · Assisting and supervising visiting clients and providing basic information regarding the patients · Sterilisation of surgical equipment, syringes, operating cloths and any other materials as instructed by theatre staff · Assisting theatre and other staff with the safe disposal of medical waste · Supporting the Veterinarians and AWA’s in the consulting room and theatre as required · General Kennel man duties including cleaning cages, runs, hospital and consulting rooms.   Feeding and exercising of hospitalised animals and washing and sanitising animal dishes as required. ·  Assisting with any other duties as required by management. ·  Maintaining compassion, sympathy and professionalism at all times.  Full training will be provided.  A proven record of satisfactory work in a similar role will be highly regarded.  The candidate must have NO criminal record.
