It’s right there in its name: 32 because it’s a 32mm rim depth – clearly meant for climbing efficiency over aerodynamics; T for tubular; and UL because this is a wonderfully ultralight wheelset. The drool-inducing MV32T UL wheelset will cost you $ 2,549, or $ 2.45 per gram for those without a calculator handy. At just 1,040g per set, Reynolds claims this is the lightest wheelset on the market that can be serviced by even those of us without the benefit of an advanced engineering degree. Surprisingly, even at that weight, there’s “virtually no rider limit” as the company’s lawyers put it. To hit that weight, Reynolds uses high modulus carbon in its rims, which they say also improves rim temperature under braking by 17 per cent. Brake Type Rim Detail from the original ad below. Bought the wheelset in April 2022 and haven't put more than 150km on the back wheel (haven't used the front). Had C19 and have been mostly on the mtb thereafter. Wheels and tyres are still in the same condition and will add a single set of Shimano carbon brake pads. Took the wheels in for a once over and the shop noted that the rear had some rust on the nipples. Doesn't affect the use and will only come into play should the wheel require a truing (which it doesn't now). Was informed it would be about a R1,000 to replace with new spokes. Thus the price drop and added brake pads. The rail rocker is low but with ample break around the front fins and staged by the exit of the channels, creating extreme release near the trailing fin and off the tail. Center rocker is straighter and fast with the effect being exaggerated by the deep channels running out the back. Wheel Size 29" BOOST Shimano SLX 10-51 - 12spd. Cassette with Discs and two Ikon tyres. Front still brand new tyre. Small cosmetic repair on rear wheel. If I did not mention it, it would not be noticed. Cycled like that for at least 7 hrs. per week for past year.
