And while this high colour strength requires a slightly different approach on the part of the aquarellist (so little paint is needed from the tube or cup for the desired colour effect that you have to get used to the ratio of paint to diluent), the advantages are clear. Pigment Classification: Phthalocyanine-Zinc oxide Colour Index: PB15:2/PW4 Colour index number: 74160-77947 Lightfastness: Lightfast pigment according to ASTM Category 1 and 2 Opacity/Transparency: Semi-transparent Features Summary One of the unique characteristics of these watercolours is the unparalleled colour strength (maximum pigmentation). This item is sold brand new. It is ordered on demand from our supplier and is usually dispatched within 7 - 13 working days In 1985, following extensive research, Old Holland presented a revolutionary range of 168 oil paints, each with the highest degree of lightfastness. Traditional, non-lightfast pigments were replaced with modern lightfast pigments with the same colour characteristics as the traditional ones. Thanks to the highest possible concentration of pigment in each colour, the paint has an unprecedented colour strength. Within the unique range of 168 colours, there is a wide range of opaque and transparent colours, each with the highest possible brilliance (intense) and clarity (clean) characteristics. The only medium used for these oil paints is cold-pressed extra virgin linseed oil, to obtain an optimum oxidisation (drying) of the paint. This increases durability and brushstroke spread. Together, these characteristics result in an oil paint of unequalled quality. Pigment Classification: Zincoxid-Titanium dioxide-phtalocyanine-synthetic ultramarine Colour Index: PW4-PW6-PB15-PB29 Colour index number: 77947-77891-74160-77007 Lightfastness: Lightfast pigment according to ASTM Category 1 and 2 Opacity/Transparency: Opaque Features Summary In 1985, following extensive research, Old Holland presented a revolutionary range of 168 oil paints, each with the highest degree of lightfastness. This item is sold brand new. It is ordered on demand from our supplier and is usually dispatched within 7 - 13 working days Pigment: Phthalocyanine blue, Phthalocyanine blue, Iron cyan blue Lightfastness: **** Opacity: Semi-opaqueDescription: Traditional deep blue. High tinting strength and good lightfastness. Tone is achieved by mixture of 3 pigments. Slightly more greenish than tone 492, Prussian blue. Colour Index: PB 15/PB15:1/PB27 To achieve the outstanding characteristics, like reusable paint when dried on a palette and the high control of paint flow even on soft water-colour papers Schmincke only use the best raw materials. In its colouristic appearance the total assortment is particularly harmonious, balanced and complete. One main ingredient of the water-colour binding medium is Kordofan Gum Arabic from the southern Sahara region. Like most natural products this traditional water-colour binding medium differs from year to year. Therefore Schmincke is testing Gum Arabic every time before purchase and selects only the best crop of the respective year. This adds small but significant quality advantages. Other formula ingredients are selected equally carefully and of course are integrated in each formula in an individual optimised way to obtain a harmonious assortment, that can be easily picked up by the brush. Another traditional quality criterion is the re-usability of the Horadam Aquarell water-colours while using the same formulation for tubes and pans. Both properties, the reusability and the control of the paint flow can only be achieved by pouring water-colours into pans in a liquid state, which is really unique. Features Summary Pigment: Phthalocyanine blue, Phthalocyanine blue, Iron cyan blueLightfastness: ****Opacity: Semi-opaqueDescription: Traditional deep blue.
