The lowdown: After the rather niche Singstar Rocks and SingStar Anthems this latest expansion has a much broader song selection. The rather loose theme is that all the songs are by music legends, rather than one hit wonders, and youve got the likes of Paranoid by Black Sabbath, Life on Mars by David Bowie and Ring of Fire by Jonny Cash. As usual all the songs include the original music video (if they had one), giving visual accompaniment to classics such as The Greatest Love of All by Whitney Houston, Roxanne by The Police and Rocket Man by Elton John. Of course whether youll still love all these golden oldies after theyve been desecrated by a drunken SingStar session is another thing. Most exciting moment: The eight player, pass the microphone mode is still the best way to play SingStar and there arent really any new game modes here to beat it. There is a new feature that lets you compare your crooning with that of the real artist though, even if the game does seem to be rather kind in most of its comparisons. Since you ask: SingStar has already been confirmed as appearing on the PlayStation 3, in fact its was one of the first games to be demoed using the online shop, where you can download individual songs you want instead of having to buy whole expansions like this. After only one sequel EA have decided to give the underground night racing theme a rest and let you drive in the sunlight for a change. Youre still a super-illegal street racer though and indeed much of the game revolves around you being pursued by the police in some very Blues Brothers-esque chases. Appearing to take a leaf out of Burnout s book, the game encourages you to make the most of traffic and roadside objects, in order to put off the long arm of the law or simply one of your fellow racers. The demo race so far seen features a lot of weaving in and out of traffic and some very cinematic touches such as zipping underneath a giant lorry carrying tree logs, which then spill out on the road behind you further aiding your escape. The graphics in the game have definitely received a boost from the last one and appear far more detailed and ambitious in scope than Underground. Unsurprisingly the ability to customise your car is still a large part of the appeal, although again theres a big distinction between extras that are just for show and performance tuning that actually has an effect on the way your car performs. Set on a future Earth crippled by overcrowding, the mood is dark and seamy. The game is seen through the eyes of a four-person police squad whose aim is to keep everything running smoothly and in an orderly fashion. Happily for us this is far from the case and the plot develops confidently through a serious of twists and turns to reveal a conspiracy which threatens the world (for a change). The beauty of Project Eden comes from the fact that the team members must be used in conjunction with one another to defeat the challenging in-game puzzles. It's simply not possible to blunder through the game on a Doom -esque rampage, murdering everything in sight. Much more finesse is required to overcome the obstacles in your path and a degree of patience and lateral thinking help immeasurably for some of the tricky situations you'll find yourself dumped in. If there's one complaint about what is otherwise a great game, it's the control system. Getting to grips with character and camera movement is a tricky business and can be more than a little confusing.
