This special piano was imported from Germany by my grandfather Hennie Roos, before the second World War, and it came to South Africa by boat. My piano front was unfortunately damaged, but the inside was not affected and had been looked after. A specialist valued the piano at between 60 to 90k, if the outside was restored to its original black French polish. I was told that Heuer could restore it for 10k. I do not have space for my piano at the moment, and have lent it to a music school where it is used and lovingly looked after. I have a video available.

One note is dead and one note is dull. Found this on Google:) Ibach has the claim of being the world's oldest manufacturer of pianos and although smaller than Steinway, Bechstein or Bluethner, it is one of the finest in Germany. During the 90's, the Korean Daewoo corp. owned a 35% interest in Ibach, and some of the pianos sold under the name Ibach (K-Line) were manufactured in Korea. This "cooperation" has been terminated so that all Ibach-brand pianos are presently produced in Germany. Ibach was a respected German make. (Assuming "Rud Ibach Sohn" is the same as "Ibach"?) There was an earlier firm, G. Adolphus Ibach, but Rudolf Ibach is the famous maker, and when he died, the firm continued as Rud.
