1980. Soft cover; 63 pages. Very good condition. Slightly bumped upper corner. Minor edgewear. Under 1kg. Illustrated with woodcuts by various African artists Mbuyiseni Oswald Mtshali was born in Kwabhanya (Vryheid), KwaZulu-Natal in 1940. After completing secondary school in he went to Soweto hoping to study social work. Apartheid legislation prevented his enrolment but he studied via correspondence, obtaining a diploma with Premier School of Journalism and Authorship, affiliated to London University. He worked as a messenger in Johannesburg, drawing on his observations of the city to write the poems that became his first collection, Sounds of a Cowhide Drum. Published by Lionel Abrahams of Renoster in 1971, with a foreword written by Nadine Gordimer, this book went on to become the best-selling poetry book in South African history. Following the extraordinary success of his debut, Mtshali went in 1974 to study at the International Writers’ Program at the University of Iowa. This was followed by undergraduate studies at the New School of Social Research, and an MFA from Columbia University. His second collection,  Fireflames, was published in 1980, whilst working as a deputy headmaster at Pace Commercial College in Jabulani, Soweto. With it overt criticism of the government, it was banned. After a stint working for the South African Council of Churches he returned in 1988 to Columbia University to pursue his doctoral studies. He taught in the USA until his return to South Africa in 2007.

With insolvency and academic failure looming, a new broom has arrived at the venerable school, bringing Powerpoint, sharp suits and even sixth form girls to the dusty corridors. Francis Parker Yockey, herald of Western resurgence, sought to apply the philosophy of Oswald Spengler to the problems of post-1945 Europe. Yockeys Cultural Vitalism provides an organic and enduring method of analysis for the life-course of Civilizations. Yockey: A Fascist Odyssey is the first sympathetic, full-length biography of this enigmatic figure. It analyses Yockey in his historical context: a post-war Europe divided between American plutocracy and Russian Bolshevism; the Europe of scaffolds, ruined cities, and Cold War confrontations. Drawing on FBI and other state files, hitherto unpublished archives, and numerous personal interviews with those involved, this biography introduces a wealth of new material. The Allied war crimes trials and the Communist Prague trials, both of which Yockey personally observed; opinions on Yockey by Sir Oswald Mosley, Ivor Benson, Adrien Arcand, and other important thinkers; the founding and activities of Yockeys European Liberation Front; the genesis and impact of Yockeys greatest writings; profiles on Yockeys colleagues and followers; the use of psychiatry as a political weapon against dissident Rightists; the background to Yockeys arrest, trial, and suicide these subjects, and many more, receive unique treatment in this comprehensive biography of a political visionary. by Kerry Bolton (Author), Tomislav Sunic (Foreword), Francis Parker Yockey (Contributor) & 1 more Shipping Weight: 1.7 pounds (View shipping rates and policies) Paperback: 620 pages Publisher: Arktos Media Ltd (February 1, 2018) Language: English ISBN-10: 1912079151 ISBN-13: 978-1912079155 Product Dimensions: 5.5 x 1.4 x 8.5 inches Shipping Weight: 1.7 pounds (View shipping rates and policies)

When the partially clothed body of a woman is discovered on Dartmoor, all eyes are on one man. There wasn't enough evidence to convict Kendwick of his suspected crimes in America, but DI Charlotte Savage is determined to bring him to justice. She's certain the woman's murder, so soon after Kendwick's return to Devon, is no coincidence. But Savage hadn't anticipated one thing: Kendwick has a perfect alibi. When more human remains are discovered at an isolated dumping ground, a full-scale murder investigation is launched. Savage realises it's up to her to uncover the truth before the killer strikes again. She knows Kendwick is hiding something. Is there a limit to how far she'll go to find out what? This item is sold brand new. It is ordered on demand from our supplier and is usually dispatched within 7 - 12 working days From Jen Williams, highly-acclaimed author of the Copper Cat trilogy and three-time British Fantasy Award finalist, comes the second novel in the electrifying Winnowing Flame trilogy - the sequel to The Ninth Rain. Epic fantasy for fans of Robin Hobb and Adrian Tchaikovsky. 'An absolute joy to read... jam-packed with breath-taking inventiveness' James Oswald 'Incredible heroines... incredible fantasy... Escapism at its finest' Stylist The Ninth Rain has fallen. The Jure'lia are awake. Nothing can be the same again. Tormalin the Oathless and the fell-witch Noon have their work cut out rallying the first war-beasts to be born in Ebora for three centuries. But these are not the great winged warriors of old. Hatched too soon and with no memory of their past incarnations, these onetime defenders of Sarn can barely stop bickering, let alone face an ancient enemy who grow stronger each day. The key to uniting them, according to the scholar Vintage, may lie in a part of Sarn no one really believes exists - a distant island, mysteriously connected to the fate of two legendary Eborans who disappeared long ago. But finding it will mean a perilous journey in a time of war, while new monsters lie in wait for those left behind. Join the heroes of THE NINTH RAIN as they battle a terrible evil, the likes of which Sarn has never known. What readers are saying about THE BITTER TWINS: 'The sequel to the brilliant Ninth Rain kicks it up a notch with more action, scarier monsters and a more expansive story' 'Be ready for some great reveals and twists that may break your heart, but that will overall leave you fist pumping the air' 'The world building continues to blow my mind Features Summary The second electrifying installment of the Winnowing Flame trilogy by three-time British Fantasy Award finalist and one of the UK's hottest emerging fantasy writers... To the memory of my dog Sam, unwittingly exchanged for an otter. The scene of this book is Skuilplek near Gansbaai. At first the cottage is inhabited by the author and her family, but one lazy Sunday afternoon the peace and quiet of Skuilplek is shaterred when a babby otter is caught in the stream adjoining the cottage. The trails of feeding Oswald and teaching him to swim have begun.
