The PS3 and Wii versions include additional wireless sensors worn on the arm and leg (“Total Body Tracking” system), while the Xbox360 version uses only the heart rate monitor and the Kinect to track movement. All three platforms thus allow players to freely use hand weights and perform floor exercises – two limitations of the first game. As with the first game, a resistance band is also included for those who do not have their own workout equipment. Players can choose from three week or nine week programs. These programs are rigidly guided systems (unlike user-selected “classes”) that track players through the range of weeks selected. Four exercises are scheduled per week, and the contents of each session are preset by unspecified fitness experts. The game also encourages filling out an in-game journal, inviting the user to fill in eating habits, weight, hours slept, and additional activity outside of the program. All of this information is presented in various charts and graphs giving a general idea of the user’s progress through the program. Users can also customize separate workouts if the choose, or deselect specific exercises in a preset session (though they may not replace them with others). As with the first game, various tweaks on running in place is the primary cardio exercise. Different types of squats and jumping in place are used to focus on the legs, and weight raises or bent-over rows for the arms. Each workout session has a warm-up and cool down period with a variety of stretches. Floor exercises are included, ranging from push-ups and sit-ups to yet more stretches. As with the first title, minigames are also used as part of the exercises. These include basketball, mountain biking (more squats), and boxing. Additional games (such as dodge ball and soccer) are available on the Xbox/Kinect, and Balance Board games (such as mountain boarding) exclusive to the Wii. In Ubongo, players compete to solve individual puzzles as quickly as they can to get first crack at the gems on hand for the taking. Original edition: The game board consists of six rows, with twelve gems (of various colors) placed in these rows. At the start of play, each player places his pawn in front of one of those rows. Each player also takes twelve polyominoes ¿ that is, pieces consisting of 2-5 squares in some configuration; players use these pieces each round to try to recreate shapes. At the start of a round, each player receives a puzzle card that depicts a shape created by some number of squares; one side of this card depicts six rows of 3 pieces, the other side depicts six rows of 4 pieces, for a more difficult puzzle. When everyone is ready, someone rolls a die to determine which row of pieces each player can use to recreate the shape on their individual card. The race is timed by a sand timer, and the outcome of this race determines the action on the main playing board. Whoever first solves their puzzle in time gets to move their pawn up to three rows left or right, with the second player to finish moving two rows and the third player only one row. Players then collect two gems from the front of the row where their pawn is located, which means that the more rows you can move, the more control you have over which color gems you can collect. After collecting gems, each player receives a new puzzle card, and a new round begins. After nine rounds, the game ends and whoever has collected the most gems in a single color wins! If players tie, then those players compare who has the most gems in a second color, and so on. 2015 edition: The puzzle-part of the game remains the same, but the scoring track and system has been greatly changed, to be the same as in Ubongo Extreme. There are no pawns anymore, but instead the winner takes a 3-point gem plus a random gem, the second-place player takes a 1-point gem plus a random gem, and others who finish within time take just a random gem. Cube is a puzzle game with action elements. The game is set in a cubic world with different stages and challenges. Players control a cube through tracks that act like 3D platforms and mazes. There are 135 levels based on nine themes in total. The different themes (called zones in the game) come with their own contraptions and a specific colour. Dangers include bombs, creatures, sinking surfaces, rotating blocks, blocks that blow the cube backwards and more. Sometimes these also need to be manipulated to create new paths (e.g. moving blocks and then luring a bomb to blow it up). The cube is “sticky” and as such it is able to roll to the sides of the bottom of a track to approach an area from a different direction or to collect new items. Only special squares cannot be moved over. The camera can also be rotated around the cube to view the environment before moving. Certain levels are time limited. The game includes a level editor and new levels can be stored and shared with friends. Multiplayer is available over Wi-Fi with the modes Battle, Co-Op, Collect and Race. While progressing players can unlock new music tracks.
