London, 1937. Mrs Laura Henderson, a woman of wealth and connections, has just buried her beloved husband. And now she's bored. At 69, she is far too energetic and vital to fade into gentle widowhood. What she needs, says her friend Lady Conway, is a hobby. Collecting diamonds, perhaps? Or doing Charitable works? But, to the shock of her friends she instead buys a theatre - the Windmill Theatre in the heart of Soho. She knows nothing about running it, so she hires a manager: enter Vivian Van Damm. A showbiz pro, he is shocked too by Mrs Henderson: she is outrageous, provocative and eccentric. And rather rude. Van Damm bans her from rehearsals owing to her endless interference, so she dresses up as a Chinese matron, then a polar bear, to spy on him. Their love-hate relationship sparks fireworks - and historic innovations in British theatre.

Fresh Fields Julia McKenzie is Maggie, a divorced schoolteacher who lives on her own in a flat in London. Comedy battleaxe Irene Handl is her Maggie s nosy next-door neighbour, Mrs. P., whose continual presence means that Maggie is never really alone. While Maggie s hoping that Mr. Right will eventually come along, it seems certain that Mrs. P. s infuriating interventions will ensure the path of true love shall always run rough! This engaging, highly popular LWT sitcom, was an early success for the BAFTA-nominated Julia McKenzie and this first series set also includes the pilot play, Poppy and Her, first broadcast in 1976.

The acclaimed 1982 BBC adaptation of Anthony Trollope's novels. The community of Barchester is shaken from its cosy complacency when a newspaper's crusade against the Church of England's practice of self-enrichment misfires. Overnight, Rev. Harding (Donald Pleasence) becomes a pawn in a battle between his younger daughter's beau, John Bold (David Gwillim), and his older daughter's husband. Little do they realise that the worst is yet to come, until a regime change delivers Barchester into the hands of a most unholy trinity: the weak-willed Bishop Proudie (Clive Swift), the domineering Mrs. Proudie (Geraldine McEwan) and the insufferable Rev. Obadiah Slope (Alan Rickman).

Inside co-directors Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo follow up their bloody and intense feature debut with this brooding, phantasmagorical horror film concerning three youths whose greed leads them into an inescapable nightmare. Young caregiver Lucie (Chlo Colloud) is still recovering from her mother's recent suicide when she joins her new boss Mrs. Wilson (Catherine Jacob) in making home visits to their elderly patients. Their last stop of the day is at a dark, labyrinthine mansion owned by Madame Jessel (Marie Claude-Pietragalla), a comatose, former ballet instructor with a stern reputation. After learning that Madame Jessel is rumored to have a priceless treasure hidden somewhere deep within the sprawling estate, Lucie is convinced by her boyfriend William (Flix Moati) and their waiter pal Ben (Jrmy Kapone) to stage a daring break-in on Halloween night, and steal the valuables under the shroud of darkness. But the deeper the trio journeys into the mansion the more they learn about Madame Jessel's malevolent past, including the bizarre death of her deaf daughter. By the time Lucy, William, and Ben have discovered Madame Jessel's darkest secret it's already too late, and they find themselves hopelessly caught in a twisted maze of unspeakable terror and supernatural torment.

A global byword for cinematic quality of a quintessentially British nature, Ealing Studios made more than 150 films over a three decade period. A cherished and significant part of British film history, only selected films from both the Ealing and Associated Talking Pictures strands have previously been made available on home video format - with some remaining unseen since their original theatrical release. The Ealing Rarities Collection redresses this imbalance - featuring new transfers from the best available elements, in their correct aspect ratio, this multi-volume collection showcases a range of scarce films from both Basil Dean's and Michael Balcon's tenure as studio head, making them available once more to the general public. LET'S BE FAMOUS (1939) Village shopkeeper Jimmy fancies himself as a great singer; when he catches the attention of a passing BBC official, his dream seems to be within reach... Black and White / 80 mins / 1.33:1 / Mono / English THE DIVIDED HEART (1954) A multiple BAFTA-award winner based on the true story of a German couple who adopt a boy thought to be a war orphan, and the mother who desperately wants him back. Black and White / 86 mins / 1.33:1 / Mono / English HIS EXCELLENCY (1952) Yorkshire ex-docker George Harrison is appointed governor of a Mediterranean island; it stuns the aristocracy, interests the artisans and disturbs the double-dealers... Black and White / 81 mins / 1.33:1 / Mono / English SALOON BAR (1940) On the night before the planned execution of a man convicted of murder, can bookie and amateur sleuth Joe Harris unravel the mystery of who really killed Mrs Truscott?
