Cry Analyzer' Provides Clues To Babies' Health 'I've nursed you, I've burped you, I've changed you, I've rocked you, I've cuddled you, I've entertained you with toys and faces... WHY WON'T YOU STOP CRYING?' Ah, the daily refrain. We've got the solution to this problem. It's called the Why Cry Baby Crying Analyzer, an electronic monitor that claims to be able to accurately identify why a baby is crying approximately 90% of the time. That success rate skyrockets to 98% when used according to the manufacturer: Babies cry for different reasons (wet diaper, tired, hungry, scared, etc.). This sound sensitive device is programmed to recognize different pitches and then digitally analyze and summarized them in 20 seconds and transmit the baby’s cry into one of five simple expressions - hungry, bored, annoyed, sleepy or stressed. The Why Cry also has displays for unit readiness, analysis indicator error, low battery, room temperature and room humidity. WhyCry is a handheld portable monitor which identifies babies’ moods by analysing common indicators in their cries. When placed next to a cot, the unit can tell if a baby is stressed, annoyed, bored, sleepy or hungry by converting its cries into digital sound waves which are quickly analysed against hundreds of samples stored in its memory. A reading is given within 20 seconds. Hospitals’ research has proven the monitor to be 98 per cent accurate when results are crosschecked with a checklist of babies’ body language, which comes with the product. WhyCry is designed as a guide to reassure parents rather than replace important natural instincts, which develop over time. It was created by a first-time dad and engineer who was frustrated at not knowing why his son was crying. After five years of research he was able to identify common themes within babies’ cries, such as energy, frequency, pitch, breathing and cycle. His creation, WhyCry, is already hugely popular in America and Asia and currently used in 22 countries worldwide. It is recommended by the Spanish Association of Midwives, and has accreditations from California University and the Paediatric Society of Japan. It has also been verified by hospitals worldwide including Spain and Canada. Dr Jose Rabano, who assessed the product for the General Hospital of Catalonia in Barcelona said: 'WhyCry is a valid instrument to aid the early stimulation and the emotional development of the baby from their first days of life.' This new and redesigned version of the product features a smaller unit with digital display including mood, humidity, and room temperature. Ideal for first time parents and carers, hearing impaired parents and carers, training purposes in creches and day nurseries. Advantages of the Why Cry Baby Crying Analyzer - Baby will be understood and attended to correctly. - Parents have more time to enjoy their baby. - Parents' learning and understanding processes are heightened. - Other caregivers (grandparents, babysitters) will become more capable of tending to the baby's needs. - Improves baby care capabilities for people with hearing loss or are deaf.
