  Agapanthus is the only genus in the subfamily Agapanthoideae of the flowering plant family Amaryllidaceae. The family is in the monocot order Asparagales. Agapanthus is commonly known as "Lily of the Nile", but it is not a lily and all of the species are native to South Africa from the cape to the Limpopo River. This subspecies occurs in Eastern Cape and southern KwaZulu-Natal. Description For over a century, Japanese bonsai artists have used an organic fertilizer to provide the nutrients needed to keep their trees in perfect health year round. BonsaiBoost is locally produced from high quality, pure canola meal, the same ingredient still used in Japan today. BonsaiBoost should be used on any bonsai or potted plant, from collected stock through to exhibition trees and on flowering, fruiting or evergreen trees. At each watering, a little of the nutrients in the sachet is carried to the roots. Sachets can be replaced every 2 months during the growing season. About I usually release some of my Japanese Red Pine stock at the beginning of summer (seedings) and older plants at the end of the growing season, during winter. These plants have been grown by myself, from seed purchased from reputable sources in Kinashi, Japan thus they are guaranteed to be the species as claimed. My process All 1 year and older stock has been grown from seedling cuttings for the best possible nebari. This also results in a very short stem length till the first actively growing buds making them idea for mame and shohin sized trees which can be grown in a much shorter space of time than the medium and larger size bonsai. Read more about my process here. While plants are in my care they are fed copious amounts of BonsaiBoost, fed weekly alternating with Seagro, Sea Secret and Kelpak to stimulate strong roots. Monthly fungicide treatments are applied, alternating between Copper Oxychloride, Chronos and Unizeb. Packaging Seedlings less than 1 years of age are sold loose, without growing medium in a plastic bag with damp sphagnum moss. Aristolochia is a large plant genus with over 500 species that is the namesake of the family Aristolochiaceae. Its members are commonly known as birthwort, pipevine or Dutchman's pipe and are widespread and occur in the most diverse climates. Aristolochia is a genus of evergreen and deciduous woody vines and herbaceous perennials. Aristolochia fimbriata, the White Veined Hardy Dutchman's Pipe, is an excellent hanging basket or container plant. Its small stem, make it more suitable than other Aristolochia for basket culture. This smaller tropical vine climbs to only 1-2 meters. It is native to Argentina, Paraguay and Southern Brazil. A rare find. A must for those who collect the unusual. It always attracts the attention by the strange flowers that are produced amongst the white-veined leaves.           Flowers are solitary and are formed under the leaves. The cute little 2.5cm to 5cm long yellow and brown flowers, resembling miniature elephant trunks, are produced along the stem all summer. The flowers are green on the tube, brown on the mouth entrance and veined purple brown inside. The mouth entrance has a bizarre and striking arrangement of hairs that stick out like a rough material. This is one of the most attractive foliage plants you can grow. This really cool deciduous groundcover Dutchman's Pipe spreads out to 75cm on little green stems. Each rounded leaf is medium green, highlighted with dramatic silver veining. In winter, the stems retreat back to the base if cultivated outside, so no invasive problems. Hardiness zones °C/5°F,-5°C/25°F) in winter. Aristolochia fimbriata likes to grow in a light and airy place, but not in direct sunlight. Keep summer temperatures from °C and winter temperatures above 10°C. Water regularly during the growth period, once or twice a week. Water no more than once a week during winter. Fertilize with a balanced fertilizer every third watering throughout the growing season. It grows best in rich, well-drained soil.

Sophora japonica  Bonsai Seeds Sophora japonica commonly known as Japanese Pagoda Tree is native to China and Korea, but not Japan. It is a medium to large deciduous tree that typically matures to 15 to 22 meters tall with a broad rounded crown. It is generally cultivated for its attractive compound foliage and fragrant late summer flowers. Pinnate leaves 25cm, each with 7-17 oval, lustrous, dark green leaflets, remain attractive throughout the growing season. Leaves retain green colour late into autumn. Small, fragrant, pea-like, creamy white flowers (each 1.5cm long) bloom in late summer in sweeping terminal panicles to 30cm long and to 30cm wide. Flowers fall to the ground around the tree after bloom covering the ground with a blanket of white.
