Networking is one of the most crucial skills any businessperson can have, and understanding this, Hirsch’s Boksburg offers business people in the community the opportunity to develop relationships with other entrepreneurs and potential clients, and grow their business, through their monthly held Business Networking Mornings. Hirsch’s Boksburg recently hosted their monthly Business Networking function with one of Hirsch’s own employees as Guest Speaker, The Regional Manager for Gauteng, Norman Brassell. Norman has been with Hirschs for 25 years, started out as an assistant accountant at head office and now is the Regional manager for the Gauteng stores. Norman also is an elder at his church and runs marriage courses with his wife Elize. Norman started off with a John Maxell minute where he spoke about PLAN. The P stands for Predetermine your course of action. The L, lay out your goals, the A, Allow time for adjustments and the N, Notify key person. Norman spoke about the importance of every organization having a Business Strategy. He also spoke about three key factors that every strategy should have. 1. Vision: Your vision statement should offer more of a direction and include a perspective of corporate values. A vision might provide a direction for the company for the next five to 10 years, while also noting a commitment to integrity, transparency, openness and other such values. It should inspire employees and given them a sense of purpose. 2. Unique Value Proposition: Your UVP is a clear statement that describes the benefit of your offer, how you solve your customer’s needs and what distinguishes you from the competition. 3. Pillars of Focus: Your pillars of focus should include three factors; Brand, Profit and Resources. All strategies should be reviewed on a regular basis in order for it to work. Join Hirsch’s Business Networking Mornings and grow your network to take your business to new heights. According to the New Testament, Mary (Aramaic: ܡܪܝܡ‎ Mariam; Hebrew: מִרְיָם‎ Miriam; Latin: Maria; c. 18 BC — AD c. 43), also known as the Virgin Mary, Our Lady (the Madonna), and occasionally Saint Mary (amongst other titles, styles and honorifics), was a Galilean Jewish woman of Nazareth and the mother of Jesus. The gospels of Matthew and Luke in the New Testament describe Mary as a virgin (Greek: παρθένος, parthénos) and Christians believe that she conceived her son while a virgin by the Holy Spirit. This took place when she was already betrothed to Joseph and was awaiting the concluding rite of marriage, the formal home-taking ceremony. She married Joseph and accompanied him to Bethlehem, where Jesus was born. According to ancient Jewish custom, Mary could have been betrothed at about 12, however, there is no direct evidence of Mary's age at betrothal or in pregnancy. The term "betrothal" is an awkward translation of kiddushin; according to the Jewish law those called "betrothed" were actually husband and wife. The Gospel of Luke begins its account of Mary's life with the Annunciation, when the angel Gabriel appeared to her and announced her divine selection to be the mother of Jesus. According to gospel accounts, Mary was present at the Crucifixion of Jesus and is depicted as a member of the early Christian community in Jerusalem. According to Apocryphal writings, at some time soon after her death, her incorrupt body was assumed directly into Heaven, to be reunited with her soul, and the apostles thereupon found the tomb empty; this is known in Christian teaching as the Assumption. Mary had been venerated since Early Christianity, and is considered by millions to be the most meritorious saint of the religion. The Eastern and Oriental Orthodox, Roman Catholic, Anglican and Lutheran churches believe that Mary, as Mother of Jesus, is the Mother of God (Theotokos), literally "Giver of birth to God". There is significant diversity in the Marian beliefs and devotional practices of major Christian traditions. The Roman Catholic Church holds distinctive Marian dogmas; namely her status as the mother of God; her Immaculate Conception; her perpetual virginity; and her Assumption into heaven. Many Protestants minimize Mary's role within Christianity, based on the argued brevity of biblical references. Mary (Maryam) also has a revered position in Islam, where a whole chapter of the Qur'an is devoted to her, also describing the birth of Jesus.
