Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force (PC) Platform: Windows 95, Windows 98 Condition: New Other versions of this game available from us: Platform: Pre-Owned/Used: Very Good Condition copies available Product Description Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force is the ultimate, sci-fi first-person shooter using the QUAKE III: Arena engine the best 3-D shooter engine in existence. The first game based on the Star Trek: Voyager universe, Elite Force pits players against a multitude of Star Trek enemies, including the relentless Borg and never-before-seen aliens, in the intense single-player and multiplayer combat missions. Review Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force is as close as we've come so far to actually being able to participate in an away team mission. The plot of this first-person shooter is pure Star Trek: during a battle with an alien ship, the badly damaged USS Voyager is transported by mysterious means to a strange spaceship graveyard. It isn't long before the Voyager crew members discover they aren't the only abductees trying to patch their vessel together and escape, and the adventure begins. As a member of Voyager's newly formed hazard team, it's your job to secure required repair materials, gather information about the other survivors, and ultimately enable Voyager to resume its long journey home. Frequently there are two or more team members with you (including familiar faces like Seven of Nine), which lets missions play out more like episodes from the series than a solo firefight that just happens to take place in a Star Trek setting. Other team members will disable security fields, analyse data, converse with you as the mission progresses, and add some much-needed firepower in the tough battle sequences. Elite Force uses the Quake III engine to good effect, serving up some beautiful environments, colourful special effects, and smooth frame rates. Our only gripe is that all the missions take place inside various spacecraft, but the architecture used by each race is unique so that it isn't too repetitive. Elite Force stays very true to the source material, as you'll discover the first time you beam into a Borg cube and watch the inhabitants march by as if you weren't there. Shot a passing Borg and the massive environment sprung to life as the threat was detected and dozens of angry Borg will converge onto your position. The cast of the TV series provided the voices for their characters in the game, and the artists painstakingly modelled the interior of Voyager. It all lends an authentic flair to this fun game that belongs in the collection of any Star Trek fan. -- T Byrl Baker --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

Star Wars: Rogue Leader - Rogue Squadron II (GameCube) Platform: GameCube Condition: New Other versions of this game available from us: Platform: Pre-Owned/Used: Very Good Condition copies available Product Information Based on the original 1977 movie Stunning recreation of the climactic scene Detailed background graphics Play as Luke, with R2D2 riding shotgun 11 missions over ice planet Hoth, the Death Star, and more Product Description Rogue Leader has some of the best graphics ever seen on a home console and its proper, old-fashioned, Star Wars--if that doesnt raise at least an eyebrow of your interest then theres probably not much in the world of video games that will. Thankfully, the jaw-dropping graphics are matched up to a very playable shoot em-up that works as a slightly more in-depth version of the PS2s Starfighter, except without any of that Episode I nonsense; instead it recreates everything from the Death Star trench run to the Battle of Hoth. The game is actually a sequel to Rogue Squadron on the N64--an excellent game that many only remember from the rather lacklustre PC version. Its structurally very similar to the original, with a dozen or so levels and a Star Destroyer full of secret levels and ships. There are a few new ideas, such as controllable wingman and ground troops, and some of the levels are set in deep space instead of just planetside, but at its heart this is still Rogue Squadron Deluxe. What elevates the game to an object of worship is the graphics--they really do look almost identical to the movies, with several scenes being copied exactly, and move with a fluidity and grace you wouldnt have thought possible from a ¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿150 console. The only flaw is that the missions are needlessly short, but theres plenty of replayability, and by gosh theres those graphics...--David Jenkins Review Rogue Leader has some of the best graphics ever seen on a home console and it's proper, old-fashioned, Star Wars --if that doesn't raise at least an eyebrow of your interest then there's probably not much in the world of video games that will. Star Wars Episode 1: Battle for Naboo (U) Platform: Nintendo 64 Condition: Pre-Owned/Used in Very Good Condition This Title Also Available As: New: Brand New and Sealed games available Please get in touch for information on these options. Pre-owned games supplied with applicable serial keys. However - please note: Any single use keys or activation codes may have already been used/redeemed. Product Information Atention defenders of Naboo, The trade federation must be stopped! Storm through more than 15 missions over land, sea and space As your freedom fighters rally against the droid armies Product Description Review At times fun, but more often frustrating, Star Wars Episode I: Battle for Naboo has plenty going for it. Unfortunately, the good is overshadowed by a darker side. Were you one of the millions that enjoyed the very popular Rogue Squadron ? If you were, then get ready for more of the same--only this time wrapped around a lucrative Episode I license. This should appeal to newly initiated fans and hardball line-campers alike, as there's more of a concrete storyline to follow than the sidelined plot of RS. Just as in the aforementioned classic, Battle for Naboo revolves around the collection of Gold Medals. New vehicles abound, and there's more than enough variety in the game's locales. The ability to switch craft at any time during the missions doesn't hurt the replay factor, either. If you discover the flash speeder doesn't have enough firepower to finish off that ATAT tank, you can just enter a different hanger and take control of a police cruiser. The graphics are astounding, even better than what RS showcased. The game deals fantastic details everywhere--even the explosions are incredible. The sound, though, is very disappointing, especially when you consider that Factor 5 is behind this. The control and manoeuvring should have been giving some more fine-tuning, too. This type of game relies on precise controls, but Battle for Naboo suffers some sloppy movements and inaccurate targeting problems. This, combined with simplistic backgrounds and missions that are too straightforward, helps deflate what could have been a great game into merely an OK one. There's plenty of replay value here, but this game's certainly not for everyone. --Todd Mowatt

Star Trek: Armada II (PC CD) (U) Platform: Windows 98, Windows 95 Condition: Pre-Owned/Used in Very Good Condition This Title Also Available As: New: Brand New and Sealed games available Please get in touch for information on these options. Pre-owned games supplied with applicable serial keys. However - please note: Any single use keys or activation codes may have already been used/redeemed. Product Information 30 single player missions and 30 multiplayer maps More ship classes New facing-based damage system 3D ship formations with up to 16 ships For 1 player or more over Internet or LAN Product Description Real-time strategy Star Trek: Armada II is poised to continue the success of the Star Trek franchise with the addition of true 3-D combat and a host of new innovations. The action again takes place in the Next Generation universe, but this time the Romulans have been dropped and the line up of playable races has been honed down to Federation, Klingons and Borg. Armada II 's story unfolds through these three separate single-player campaigns. Through 27 action packed-missions, players battle against the Cardassians, Romulans, Borg and the deadly invaders from Fluidic space, Species 8472. Each race has its own distinct play style, weapons, ships and base facilities. Star Trek: Armada II promises to add a number of new strategic options and enhancements to the original game. Maps are bigger and better and there is a new Tactical View in which you can watch the Klingons "let slip the dogs of War" in 3-D. The sequel also features an extensive range of multiplayer options, including up-to-eight-player competitions over LAN and the Internet where gamers can play as the Federation, Klingons, Borg, Cardassians, Romulans or Species 8472. Several additional multiplayer game types will also be available including variations of Capture-the-Flag, King of The Hill, and Co-Op style gameplay. Review Star Trek Armada 2 is the follow-on to real-time strategy game Star Trek Armada. This time, though, you are up against the mighty Borg as they try to assimilate the Federation and all that stand in their way. Fighting your way through 30 huge levels, you won't have too much time to learn how to use the new 100-odd craft and base objects that Star Trek Armada 2 has to offer, and to help you, Activision have introduced a new formation tool so you can now control your fleet more effectively in battle. The graphics are similar to the first and show the vastness of space, dangerous nebula and incoming spacecraft to a high standard. The menu system is easy to get the hang of for those venturing into this style of game for the first time. If you're looking for multiplayer options Star Trek Armada 2 caters admirably and you can have up to eight players at once across the internet or local network. Die-hard Star Trek fans will have plenty to smile about, while space RTS fans however might find the graphical interface sometimes difficult to appreciate and might be better sticking to the likes of Homeworld or Command and Conquer. That said, this is a commendable follow-up to the original and should give you hours of entertainment. -- Jason Denwood

In Star Wars: Episode I, The Phantom Menace, you assume the roles of Obi Wan, Qui-Gon, Queen Amidala and Captain Panaka as they struggle to save Naboo and defeat the Trade Federation's sinister agents. Exciting battles, terrific sound effects and a true-to-the-movie storyline make this game a treat for any Star Wars fan. The graphics could be sharper, but the overall Star Wars experience is not diminished by this fact. Instead, the gameplay itself takes you away from an immersive Star Wars feel: it's just strange to see a Jedi use a rocket launcher. Most of us would hope that lightsabres would cut through just about anything, but sadly this is not the case--some robots even need to be hit multiple times before they go down. And it's just sad to see a Jedi's progress in an outdoor level blocked by simple shrubbery. Still, like the movie itself, Star Wars: Episode One, The Phantom Menace overcomes its minor flaws to deliver a thrilling experience. --Allen Stewart Pros: You get to use a lightsabre Dual shock controllers vibrate with the sabre's movement Great music video of Duel of the Fates included Cons: Graphics could be better Voice-overs are rather weak
