Fantastic Four Issue # 56 CONDT GOOD - Nov '66 • Fourth appearance of Black Panther (T'Challa). ––––––––––... • "Klaw, the Murderous Master of Sound!" – While Reed and Ben test out a device that allows Reed to monitor the Negative Zone from the safety of his own lab, they are attacked by the newly powered Ulysses Klaw, who has come for revenge against the Fantastic Four for defeating him in Wakanda. While in the hidden land, the latest attempt to break through the barrier around their land has failed leaving Black Bolt unconscious. Back in New York, after knocking out Ben and Reed, Klaw attacks Sue, telling her how he had gotten his powers from entering into his solid sound machine. However, Reed and Ben arrive to fight Klaw back. During the fight Klaw places a sonic barrier around the Baxter Building preventing anyone from getting in or out. While elsewhere, Johnny and Wyatt travel the myriad dimensions with Lockjaw in hopes that the beast will eventually transport them beyond the barrier around the Hidden Land. Back in the States, a missile from Wakanda flies into the Baxter Building, piercing the barrier. Inside, Reed removes the Vibranium bands which he had radioed the Black Panther to send to him. Reed then uses them to beat Klaw into submission. After the battle Reed radios T'Challa to thank him for helping them out. While elsewhere, a shadowed figure takes particular interest in the Silver Surfer. –––––––––– NOTE: Klaw was transformed into a being of living sound after diving into a sound converter device at the end of Fantastic Four #53. NOTE: Black Bolt was injured trying to destroy the Negative Zone barrier around Attilan with a Absoreba-Bomb in Fantastic Four #54. NOTE: After this story, Klaw is pulled forward through time to battle the Defenders as seen in Defenders (vol. 2) #10, after his defeat there he is returned to his own time with no apparent memories of his time in the future. NOTE: After helping the Fantastic Four here, the Black Panther makes his next appearance in Fantastic Four #60, where he provides advisement to the Fantastic Four during their battle with Doctor Doom. NOTE: The man observing the Silver Surfer is Doctor Doom, in Fantastic Four #57 through 60 manages to steal the Surfer's Power Cosmic for his own use.

This item is sold brand new. It is ordered on demand from our supplier and is usually dispatched within 7 - 13 working days It probably took a fraction of a second from the knock - a single bang - to the opening of the door and the entry of an unexpected visitor into the room. They had just finished their lunch. The unannounced visitor...simply pretended that everything was normal. There he stood - unfazed and somehow gigantic in his presence. The room had suddenly been invaded by a man who was to be a landmark in the lives of the trainees... The book opens in China, 1962. Andrew Mlangeni is one of a small select group undergoing military training. The unannounced visitor is Mao Tse-Tung. While still at school, Andrew Mlangeni joined the Communist Party of South Africa and also the ANC Youth League. These were the organisations that shaped his values. Decades of resourceful activism were to lead to his arrest and life sentence in the Rivonia trial. Mlangeni's lifelong commitment to the struggle for liberation reverberates with other biographies of leading figures. His perspective comes from a somewhat ambiguous position in the hierarchy of liberation leaders. Mlangeni was selected as one of the first-ever six members who received military training in China before the formation of Umkhonto we Sizwe. He seems to have been chosen because he was a dedicated, intelligent and dependable operative, rather than a leader. Even after his release after 25 years on Robben Island, Mlangeni was not given a senior position in the post-apartheid democratic government. 'I was always the backroom boy,' says Andrew Mlangeni about himself. This story of an ANC elder is a rigorously researched historical record overlaid with intensely personal reflections which intersect with the political narrative. Above all, it is one man's story, set in the maelstrom of the liberation struggle. This biographical project has been developed for, and published in conjunction with, the June and Andrew Mlangeni Foundation. Features Summary Andrew Mlangeni is one of a small select group undergoing military training. The unannounced visitor is Mao Tse-Tung. The leading creative force behind the rise of Marvel Comics, he brought to life some of the world's best-known heroes and most infamous villains. His stories, featuring super-heroes who struggled against personal hang-ups and bad guys who possessed previously unseen psychological complexity, added wit and subtlety to a field previously locked into flat portrayals of good v evil. Lee put the human in the super-human. In the process, he created a new mythology for the twentieth century. In this full-colour graphic memoir illustrated by celebrated artist Colleen Doran, Stan Lee tells the story of his life with the same inimitable wit, energy and offbeat spirit that he brought to the world of comics. He moves from his impoverished childhood in Manhattan to his early days writing comics, followed by military training films during World War II, through the rise of the Marvel empire in the 1960s to his current resurgence in movies. This will be a must-have for all fans of comic books and graphic novels. Sugar Man: The Life, Death and Resurrection of Sixto Rodriguez The amazing story of the American musician who was famous in South Africa and Australia, but unknown anywhere else... until the Oscar-winning documentary. Like many South Africans in the seventies and eighties, Stephen 'Sugar' Segerman and Craig Bartholomew Strydom were obsessed with the music of Rodriguez, but the man himself was a mystery. Only his name was known, and the fact that he had killed himself on stage. After years of searching in a pre-internet age, the two men found the singer living in seclusion in Detroit. Remarkably, the blue-collar worker had no idea that he had been famous for over twenty-five years in this remote pariah of the world. In 2006, Swedish filmmaker Malik Bendjelloul set out to find 'the best story on earth' and stumbled on this remarkable tale in the Guardian newspaper. He tracked down Segerman and Strydom, and so began his four-year-long quest to make the Oscar-winning documentary, Searching for Sugar Man. Sugar Man: The Life, Death and Resurrection of Sixto Rodriguez outlines three separate journeys and the obstacles and triumphs that each presented: Rodriguez's struggle to make a life from music; the odyssey of two fans to find out what had happened to their hero; and Bendjelloul's pursuit to bring the story to celluloid. The book is packed with information not included in the film, about Rodriguez's background, relationships and political activities, his tours to Australia, and the recognition that has finally come to him after the film's success. Author Strydom, Craig Bartholomew; Stephen Segerman ISBN 9781770228146 Format Paperback Pages 285p.
