THE EXTRACTS BELOW COME FROM "THE COMPREHENSIVE HANDBOOK OF THE POSTMARKS OF GERMAN SOUTH WEST AFRICA / SOUTH WEST AFRICA / NAMIBIA" BY THE LATE RALPH PUTZEL PUBLISHED IN 1991. FROM THE WRITING ON THE BACK OF THE CARD, THE FOLLOWING CAN BE DETERMINED 1. IT WAS WRITTEN IN JUNE, LESS THAN 1 MONTH BEFORE THE CAMPAIGN WAS BROUGHT TO A CLOSE ON 9 JULY 1915 2. FROM THE MESSAGE WE LEARN IT WAS WRITTEN SOON AFTER LEAVING LUDERITZ 3. THE WRITER WAS ON "ACTIVE SERVICE" (TOP CENTRE OF POST CARD) 4.
