Choose one of the 20 preset drum kits or simply compile your own and store it in the designated memory with 30 free slots. The sound module is packed with drum kits from all over the world. Whether you pick a standard Rock or Fusion set, or maybe rather a Drum ‘n Bass or Vintage kit, the DD506 has it all. The aluminum rack is part of the standard equipment. Play like an acoustic drum kit… An acoustic drum kit offers various nuances when playing on drums and cymbals. These nuances are now also available on the pads of the DD506. The cymbal pads may be played on top as usual, or at the rim in order to distinguish between ride and crash sounds. The pads ensure an authentic playing experience; the realistic ‘feel’ enables dynamic play. The sensitivity of both pad and rim may be adjusted independently. The drum kit may be further fitted by adjusting the stereo image, volume and pitch for each pad. The touch response is adjustable per pad in six degrees. Whether you play Rock or Jazz, the pads can be fitted to every style. The sound module… The DD506 sound module has a separate input for each pad. All pads and controllers can be connected quickly and easily by means of the included multi-cable. The controls are very clear which allows you to set the sounds per pad, control the metronome, fit cross-talk between separate pads, or adjust the reverb. Apart from the 307 drum and percussion voices, a complete GM voices set is available which can be controlled on 16 MIDI channels. This makes it possible to play MIDI files from a computer with the sounds of the module, using the USB connection. Connection options… The DD506 has audio exits to connect it to the drum monitor (AP30) or an external sound installation. The module may be connected directly to a computer by means of the USB connection. All played parts can then be recorded live and played back by means of a sequencer program.
