S. Darko: A Donnie Darko Tale - Seven years after the death of her elder brother Donnie, Samantha Darko (Chase) is struggling through adolescence as her family crumbles around her. Samantha tries to escape to Hollywood with her best friend Corey (Evigan), setting off on an ill-fated road trip which culminates in them breaking down in a remote desert town. As the pair are forced to stay in the town, a meteorite hits nearby causing Samantha to begin to have visions of the universe's end. In addition, she finds out that she was in fact adopted by the Darko's and that the fate of the world is in her hands. Donnie Darko - It's October 1988, in the Virginia suburb of Middlesex. When Frank, a grotesque giant bunny (possibly imaginary), leads Donnie out of his house minutes before a plane smashes through his roof, he not only saves Donnie's life but also warns Donnie that the world is about to end. Over the next few weeks, Donnie falls in love with Gretchen (Jena Malone) and tries to figure out what his life means. Writer and director Richard Kelly's bold debut film is a social satire, a dark comedy, a science fiction time-travelling fantasy, and a suburban nightmare about an extremely intelligent, depressive, self-destructive teenager. Like 'Ghost World' it uses teen comedy as the entry point for a subversive look at American life. Jake Gyllenhaal leads an exceptional cast, bringing Kelly's twisted but humane vision to life.

The CD is brand new and in mint condition.    Lucky Dube began his career by singing mbaqanga music in South Africa, and together with the Super Soul band, recorded his first album ‘Kudala Ngikuncenga’ as early as 1982.  The album was recorded during Lucky's school holidays when he was just 18 years old.  The album, although recorded with The Love Brothers, was released as 'Lucky Dube and The Super Soul'. Lucky was the lead singer but did not write any of the material on that first record.  His second album, Lengane Ngeyethu, came soon afterwards and Lucky was far more involved with the writing.  He recorded a few other mbaqanga albums, and this Afrikaans album before moving into reggae.  His early reggae albums include ‘Think about the Children’.  Then he began doling out the hits: his albums ‘Slave’, ‘Prisoner’ and ‘Together As One’ saw him catapult to recognition firstly regionally and then globally.  Lucky was tragically slain in an attempted hijacking in Johannesburg in 2007 whilst dropping off his children at a family members house.   Lucky recorded a few Afrikaans songs with Richard Saluma, including the 'Oom Hansie se Jol' and 'Help My Krap' mini-albums in 1985/86, both of which are included on this CD, rereleased in South Africa on the Gallo Records label in 2005.   LUCKY DUBE / OOM HANSIE Kaapse Dans En Anner Hits Label: Gallo Cat#: CDGSP 3073 Bar Code: 6001212122133 Format: CD Country: South Africa Released: 2006   Tracklist 1.
