This India Red Ale is dedicated to the Hansen brothers - Sig, Edgar and Norman - the Rogues of the Bering Sea. Captain Sig is well known for his appearance on documentary television show, Deadliest Catch, in which he has become a legend for his fearless skippering of The Northwestern. A portion of the proceeds from this ale, also called the Deadliest Ale, goes towards supporting the Fisherman’s Fund, which cares for Alaska-licensed commercial fishermen who have been injured while fishing in the region. Deep red in colour Creamy off-white head Starts off with a floral, slightly citrus hop nose, but the hop flavour soon fades into the malty backbone of this red ale Best paired with beef or seafood dishes

Society Islands, set of 8 coins, Local Fauna, Sea Creatures, Birds, 2015 Edition Technical Specs Presentation Country:   Society Islands Metal Purity:    bimetal from nonprecious metals Box:   Year of Issue:   2015 Weight:   CoA:   Face Value:   Dimensions:       Quality:       Mintage:     Coins have some scratches and oxides The Society Islands (French: ?les de la Soci?t? or officially Archipel de la Soci?t?; Tahitian: T?taiete m?) are a group of islands in the South Pacific Ocean. They are politically part of French Polynesia. The archipelago is suspected to have been named by Captain James Cook supposedly in honour of the Royal Society, the sponsor of the first British scientific survey of the islands; however, Cook himself stated in his journal that he called the islands Society "as they lay contiguous to one another."The islands became a French protectorate in 1843 and a colony in 1880. They have a population of 235,295 inhabitants (as of 2012). They cover a land area of 1,590 square kilometres (610 sq mi). The islands are divided, both geographically and administratively, into two groups:Windward Islands (?les du Vent) (listed from east to west)MehetiaTahitiTetiaroaMooreaMaiaoLeeward Islands (?les Sous-le-Vent)HuahineRaiateaTahaaBora BoraTupaiMaupitiMopeliaMotu One (Bellinghausen)Manuae ____________________________________________________  Feel free to e-mail me with any questions.

From Cabinda in Angola to Dar es Salaam in Tanzania 4 Reconnaissance Regiment conducted numerous clandestine seaborne raids during the Border War. They attacked strategic targets such as oil facilities, transport infrastructure and even Russian ships. All the while 4 Recces existence and capability was largely kept secret, even within the South African Defence Force. With unparalleled access to previously top secret documents, 50 operations undertaken by 4 Recce, other Special Forces units and the South African Navy are described. The daunting Operation Kerslig (1981), in which an operator died in a raid on a Luanda oil refinery and others were injured, is retold in spine-tingling detail. The book reveals the versatility and effectiveness of this elite unit and also tells of both the successes and failures of its actions. Sometimes missions go wrong, as in Operation Argon (1985) when Captain Wynand Du Toit was captured. This fascinating work will enthrall anyone with an interest in Special Forces operations. Iron Fist from the Sea takes you right to the raging surf, to the adrenalin and fear that is seaborne raiding.  Jonathan Cape, 1952, 6th impression. Pages yellowing, owner name on ffep. DJ has 4 small clippings, but original price still shown as 15s. net.  If only books cost that today! The classic book of war at sea and the impact on the ordinary people caught up in it. 494 pp.   This is a work of fiction in the historical setting of World War II. It contains errors of fact. Times and places of specific circumstances in actual military operations, names and missions of ships, and naval communication procedures have been distorted either to suit the story or to avoid inadvertent recounting of still-secret information. All the persons and events aboard the Caine are imaginary. Any resemblance to actual persons or events is coincidental. No ship named U.S.S. Caine exists or existed. The records of thirty years show no instance of a court martial resulting from the relief of a captain at see under Articles 184, 185 and 186 of the U.S. Naval Regulations. The fictitious figure of the deposed captain was contrived from a study of psychoneurotic case histories to motivate the central situation and is not a portrait of a real military person or a type. This statement is made in view of an existing tendency to seek lampoons of living people in fiction. The author served under two captains of the regular Navy in three years aboard destroyer-minesweepers, both of whom were decorated for valour. One comment on style: The general obscenity and blasphemy of shipboard talk have gone almost wholly unrecorded. This good-humoured Billingsgate is largely monotonous and not significant, mere verbal punctuation of a sort and its appearance in print annoys some readers. The traces that remain are necessary where occurring.
