Review First, the good features of Disney's Peter Pan: Adventures in Neverland: it's fun to fly around as Peter Pan, collecting feathers and stuff, tangling with various baddies, and exploring colourful 2-D environments. The physics, while rudimentary, give you a vivid sense of Peter Pan's weight, and the controls make moving him around a very intuitive affair. The missions are pretty simple, just right for younger gamers. But elements from the Disney movie sequel on which the game is supposedly based are completely absent. So instead of the film's story, which mixes scenes from both Neverland and WWII-era London, the game offers a completely generic plot about a secret map and hidden treasure. In fact, it verges on false advertising for this game to even bear the name of the film. The game also suffers from interminable load times--if your character perishes, you even have wait while the same level loads again. Taken not as an adaptation of a film, but as a good, basic adventure for younger gamers, though, the game is just fine. The environments are fun to explore, and the action is just challenging enough to keep things interesting without making them frustrating. --David Stoesz

Just in time for the first sequel this Halloween, the game is intended to be part of a trilogy. The loading screen starts to set up the atmosphere with weird random freakish noises like children crying, but since the game requires 850Mb HDD space and isn't the fastest loader around, this soon becomes irritating. You control Doc Holiday--a female doctor rather than the male gunslinger--in her quest to unravel the mystery of the Blair Witch. The story setup and the training mission are combined into one. It is certainly the best time to get accustomed to the extreme third-person angles of the game, though Resident Evil fans won't have much trouble adjusting. You still have to readjust your control method because different camera angles cause different character directions onscreen although the controls remain the same, which is no real problem for Tomb Raider fans, but it's the second time one of the features of Blair Witch Vol.1 has been better executed elsewhere and your technique needs to be totally relearned. One nice feature however, is the first-person night vision, which is deliberately blurred to recreate the film's night video view feel. Since at least two more episodes are due for release by Gathering of Developers, don't kid yourself that it's all over when you get to the end. The game is average and open-minded gamers will give it a try, and persevere if they are fans of the other action/adventure series mentioned. Of course, for the uninitiated among us, there are a number of difficulty levels ranging from easy, which is actually very easy, to normal, which takes a few steps to get used to and then it starts moving on to hard, expert and crazy, with the latter involving really jumping around. The other added bonus to this pack is that the dancemat is really a controller and so is not exclusive to the Jungle Book Groove, giving some interesting results when playing any fighting or football-based game. This is a great product if you are looking for some fun at the party or merely aiming to combine playing video games with doing some exercise. With the songs also having karaoke words, it's not just the dancer that gets all the fun.
