Anglo-Boere Oorlog Medalje     Recipient: BURG P.J.J. JORDAAN   His full name is Petrus Jacobus Johannes Jordaan and was in the Heidelberg Kommando.   He was also entitled to the "Lint Voor Verwonding". (Wound Ribbon)   According to his "Vorm B" medal application he fought in Dundee, Modderspruit, Colenso, Spionkop, Estcourt and in smaller skirmishes in the Orange Free State.   At the age of eighteen he was wounded in a battle at Colenso on 19 February 1900.   He was in Heidelberg Hospital from 23 February 1900 to March 1900.   He was captured by the British at Molspruit on 25 May 1901 and spent some time as a POW in Ladysmith and, possibly, Bermuda.   Copies of research will be included.

Bijvoegsel van de Amsterdammer, Weekblad voor Nederland. 25 Februari 1900.  Johan Coenraad Braakensiek (24 May 1858, Amsterdam – 27 February 1940, Amsterdam) was a Dutch painter, illustrator and political cartoonist. Many of his cartoons were published this way during the Boer War. Onderaan die skets: John Bull: Jawel, dat is eigentlijk mijn ware gedaante, maar dien krans zal ik toch nog maar even afzetten. 28 cm breed en 43 cm hoog. Geraam in karton. R80 posgeld in SA.
