In this book I demystify some of the myths I also believed about God before I came to know Him. The way He was portrayed to me as a young person and the God I have met are worlds apart. I have always thought of Him as this big angry guy sitting up in heaven looking to punish us and wanting to cramp our style. I dont know whether it is some preaching I got exposed to or lies from the enemy but He is not who I thought He was and I felt robbed. That led me to write this book to demystify Him a bit and as I uncover His heart of a Dad to share that with others that might be having the same misconceptions about Him I also had. In the book I look at Who He is, the Trinity and the role of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. I also look at His purposes and His ways through the Word and His relevance in our modern society. The book also focuses on the names of God either given by His people or the names He calls Himself. The book looks at the meaning of these names, their sources and how they reflect on the nature of God. It also touches on my personal experiences where the word manifested leading to spiritual experiences with the living God.

A fire breaks out in a chapel, and DCI Warren Jones is alarmed by what is discovered at the scene. Curled up in the ash and debris is a body - and it's soon clear that the chapel doors were locked from the inside. The disappearance of a local priest, Father Nolan, and a cryptic note left in his room, point to an unusually violent suicide. But when further evidence confuses the picture, Warren begins to suspect foul play - and murder. Clearly, someone wanted this seemingly innocent man to suffer. And when a discovery on a quiet riverbank sends the investigation reeling, Warren knows he must act quickly to discover who is behind this spate of grisly deaths - before another man of God is found dead. The primary goal of this book is to help readers come to a deeper understanding of the nature and character of God and how God works in the lives of his followers. Christians face many barriers in their efforts to grow in their faith, many of which are "self-inflicted." Some relate to God as a stern judge instead of as a loving Father. Some struggle with the idea that growing in faith entails doing more-more studying, more serving, more Bible reading-instead of being in a closer relationship with God and allowing him to do it. This omnibus contains three books about the popular character Punchinello. It communicates the message to all children that they are precious in God's sight, no matter what the rest of the world thinks. The Max Lucado Children's Omnibus will remain one of children's favourite books even as they grow older. You Are Special Every day Wemmicks do the same thing: either stick gold stars or grey dots on one another. The pretty and talented ones always get stars. Others, though, who can do little or who have chipped paint, get ugly dots. Parents will appreciate the message this story conveys to children: regardless of what the world thinks, they are precious in God's sight. You Are Mine The need to be important is creating havoc in Wemmicksville. And once again Punchinello is in the middle. Follow his foibles as he learns a lesson that kids of every age must never forget: God's children are loved because they belong to the Father, not because of what they possess. Best of All When the famous Bess Stovall arrives in Wemmicksville, everyone wants to be in her club. But Punchinello can't because he is made of the wrong wood. Eli the woodcarver helps Punchinello see that he is special because Eli made him. We don't have to be famous to be special. God made us just the way we are — on purpose. It is ordered on demand from our supplier and is usually dispatched within 7 - 15 working days In 2005, Father Julian Carron became the leader of the global ecclesial movement Communion and Liberation, following the death of the movement's founder, Father Luigi Giussani. Disarming Beauty is the English translation of an engaging and thought-provoking collection of essays by one of the principal Catholic leaders and intellectuals in the world today. Adapted from talks given by Fr. Carron, these essays have been thoroughly reworked by the author to offer an organic presentation of a decade-long journey. They present the content of his elaboration of the gospel message in light of the tradition of Fr. Giussani, the teachings of the popes, and the urgent needs of contemporary people. Carron offers a broad diagnosis of challenges in society and then introduces their implications in contexts such as families, schools, workplaces, and political communities. In a dialogue with his listeners, he inspires and encourages them to lay out a new path for the Catholic church and the world. Throughout his essays, Carron addresses the most pressing questions facing theologians today and provides insights that will interest everyone, from the most devout to the firm nonbeliever. Grappling with the interaction of Christian faith and modern culture, Carron treats in very real and concrete ways what is essential to maintaining and developing Christian faith, and he invites an ongoing conversation about the meaning of faith, truth, and freedom. Julian Carron is a Catholic priest and theologian from Spain. He is president of the Fraternity of Communion and Liberation, the successor to Father Luigi Giussani, who passed away in 2005. Carron is professor of theology at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan. He is the editor of Christ, God's Companionship with Man by Luigi Giussani. No autopsy was performed. The family diagnosis was God's will. As a boy, Downing rigorously trained as a spiritual athlete, preparing to vault into heaven. But eventually he escaped the religious dogma and the family arena--until one of his brothers died in 2003, suddenly and inexplicably. No autopsy was performed. Alarmed, Downing pursued a diagnosis. Drawn into a world of researchers, clinicians, and manufacturers with their own arcane ethics and faith, Downing discovered he had inherited a mutant protein from his father, and that the first symptom would be his sudden death. To save his life, a defibrillator was hardwired to his heart. Within weeks, he needed emergency surgery to remove the device and the life-threatening infection he got with it. Two months later, he was reimplanted--only to read in his morning newspaper that the new wires anchored to his heart were prone to failure. His device might be powerless, or it might deliver a series of unwarranted, possibly fatal, shocks. From a bedeviled boyhood in the Berkshires to a grim comedy of errors in one of Boston's best hospitals, Life with Sudden Death is a tale of medical misadventure. (This title is available on demand: expected date of dispatch will be 4-7 working days once ordered) "A beautifully written glimpse into heaven that will encourage those who doubt and thrill those who believe." -Ron Hall, coauthor of Same Kind of Different as Me "Do you remember the hospital, Colton?" Sonja said. "Yes, mommy, I remember," he said. "That's where the angels sang to me." When Colton Burpo made it through an emergency appendectomy, his family was overjoyed at his miraculous survival. What they weren't expecting, though, was the story that emerged in the months that followed-a story as beautiful as it was extraordinary, detailing their little boy's trip to heaven and back. Colton, not yet four years old, told his parents he left his body during the surgery-and authenticated that claim by describing exactly what his parents were doing in another part of the hospital while he was being operated on. He talked of visiting heaven and relayed stories told to him by people he met there whom he had never met in life, sharing events that happened even before he was born. He also astonished his parents with descriptions and obscure details about heaven that matched the Bible exactly, though he had not yet learned to read. With disarming innocence and the plainspoken boldness of a child, Colton tells of meeting long-departed family members. He describes Jesus, the angels, how "really, really big" God is, and how much God loves us. Retold by his father, but using Colton's uniquely simple words, Heaven Is for Real offers a glimpse of the world that awaits us, where as Colton says, "Nobody is old and nobody wears glasses." Heaven Is for Real will forever change the way you think of eternity, offering the chance to see, and believe, like a child. Format:Paperback Pages:192

"Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life." -Proverbs 4:20-23 The central organ of the human body is the heart. It circulates the blood throughout the whole bodily system, pumping oxygen and nutrients to the other organs and pulling toxins away from them. Yet we human beings have another "heart"-a spiritual one-that is the true center of our existence. Our spiritual heart is our identity. It is the foundation of our whole being, from which our desires, designs, purposes, will, thoughts, and attitudes originate. Yet, as a result of the fall and our sinful nature, we all have symptoms of "heart disease," and we need to know how to become spiritually heart-healthy. As the Scriptures say, "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it?" (Jeremiah 17:9). Every spiritual, mental, and emotional matter-and many physical ones-is rooted in the heart. The state of our spiritual heart affects all aspects of our daily living. Therefore, the condition of our heart will be the condition of our life. Join Apostle Maldonado in a journey of discovery into the purpose, motivations, and potential of our spiritual heart. God wants us to understand how, in Christ, our heart is designed to "pump" life to our entire being-producing mental, emotional, and physical health and removing the toxins of sin. We were created to reflect the heart of our heavenly Father. And God is ready even now to change our heart to be like His through a supernatural transformation! “While we acknowledge that all expressions of liberation theology are not identical, we must protest very strongly against the false divisions that some make: between black theology in South Africa and black theology in the United States, between black theology and African theology, and between black theology and Latin American liberation theology. But moving away from the illusioned universality of western theology to the contextuality of liberation theology is a risky business; one that cannot be done innocently. In the search for theological and human authenticity in its own situation, black theology does not stand alone. It is but one expression of this search going on within many different contexts. Until now, the Christian church had chosen to move through history with a bland kind of innocence, hiding the painful truths of oppression behind a facade of myths and real or imagined anxieties. This is no longer possible. The oppressed who believe in God, the Father of Jesus Christ, no longer want to believe in the myths created to subjugate them. It is no longer possible to innocently accept history “as it happens,” silently hoping that God would take the responsibility for human failure. The theology of liberation spells out this realization. For the Christian church it constitutes, in no uncertain terms, farewell to innocence.” Price: R150.00 Edition: First South African edition Published: 1977 Publishers: Ravan Press ISBN: 0869750666 Condition:Paperback in good condition with shelf wear around the edges and top and bottom of the spine. Growing up in the safety of Britain, Jonathan Wittenberg was deeply aware of his legacy as the child of refugees from Nazi Germany. Yet, like so many others there is much he failed to ask while those who could have answered his questions were still alive. After burying their aunt Steffi in the ancient Jewish cemetery on the Mount of Olives, Jonathan, now a rabbi, accompanies his cousin Michal as she begins to clear the flat in Jerusalem where the family have lived since fleeing Germany in the 1930s. Inside an old suitcase abandoned on the balcony they discover a linen bag containing a bundle of letters left untouched for decades. Jonathan's attention is immediately captivated as he tries to decipher the faded writing on the long-forgotten letters. They eventually draw him into a profound and challenging quest to uncover the painful details of his father's family's history. Through the wartime correspondence of his great-grandmother Regina and his grandmother, aunts and uncles, Jonathan weaves together the strands of an ancient rabbinical family with the history of Europe during the Second World War and the unfolding policies of the Nazis, telling the moving story of a family whose lives are as fragile as the paper on which they write, but whose faith in God remains steadfast.
