Euro pallets They are a standard size (unlike SA's diverse pallet population) and made from quality wood. The EUR-pallet—also Euro-pallet or EPAL-pallet—is the standard European pallet as specified by the European Pallet Association (EPAL). Pallets conforming to the standardization are eligible for the European Pallet Pool (EPP) -the system allows for an exchange as "pallet for pallet". The EUR/EPAL-pallet is 1.2m by 800cm. It is a four-way pallet made of wood that is nailed with 78 special nails in a prescribed pattern. Even though they have taken even the most visionary interiors by storm, wooden pallets are still mostly used in warehouses and during transporting cargo. The most frequently used types of pallets are EUR-pallets. Their standard dimensions are 1,200 × 800 × 144 mm. They are very durable. EUR-pallets can be manufactured only by plants which have a special EPAL license.
