On the MOHS scale of hardness, it is rated a 6-6.5, and is suitable for jewellery.       It has two planes, so you have to be extra careful when you facet it. This is also why there is approximately 90% loss on the rough. This is a fine marked 925 silver vintage pendant and chain. The pendant is the eastern symbol for Om that represents four states of human awareness: ordinary, waking or material state; deep sleep; the dream state; and finally absolute conscience state. The pendant measures about 2 X 2 cm and is marked 925 on the back. The chain measures approximately 19.5 cm when wearing it and 39 cm end-to-end. It is marked and also has a vintage ring spring clasp. A beautiful piece of jewellery with a deep spiritual meaning and connection.
